I don't think it's a coincidence that the most progress happened without Fehr in the room. If they can settle this themselves, does he still get paid? Useless schmuck

I'm hoping things don't go south when he gets back into the room. Still hoping that massive ego doesn't feel left out after real progress being made. Hey I finally changed my title to Progress in CBA talk! Don't sucker me again NHL! I am still on edge about this, and not putting too much faith in though.
Yes Rockie they are supposed to meet again before the BOG meeting tomorrow morning.
I remember when they were posting how Messier and Kovalchuck had dinner, before he signed with NJ. I wouldn't put too much stock in it.
"Dinner with Messier" was a particularly fun Devils board meme while it lasted.

Ya I agree, Fehr is definitely one of the obstructionists. Get him and the hardline owners out of the process, and everybody suddenly becomes reasonable.

Unless the progress actually happened with 'only' Bettman and Fehr in the room, maybe a few others in a secret negotiation and this meeting is more or less the public narrative they want to put on the settlement.

I read the guy's posts too, interesting. He also believes this meeting is a nice little PR package too. I really don't care in the end if it is or not, I just find it amusing the lengths to which the league will go PR-wise during this lockout, it really has become like politics.
Who do I have to fight for the rights to the very special, made-for-TV Christmas blockbuster, "Sidney Saves the Season" ??
I hear Sid also has the power to turn back time, so the film will be part of the Black Friday sales. This saves dozens of lives, as you don't have to risk your life twice.
I have a very mild conspiracy theory regarding Bettman, Burkle, the reporter from Boston, and the Golden Child. I'll share that one later. Still looking for ways to tie Fehr into it, but that might have been the goal of the theory.
Still a little worried about Fehr when he gets back in the room. Not so much worried about Gary, but Don I am. Steve, and Bill just work so much better together.
I mean really, why bother making the media wait a half hour for a fifteen-second 'press conference'? You could have just passed out a prepared statement and not waste anyone's time. That was shorter than some of Torts' beauts during the playoffs last year
My roommate's uncle works for an NHL team and he said he believes this is the end. He said games should start around December 20th. Take that for what it is...I'm cautiously optimistic.
My friend of a friend down in South Florida who I've mentioned is good friends with a certain goaltender that I hate has finally gotten back to me. He also knows some people who work for the Panthers, and there's some good feelings he says. There's some excitement, but trying to tread lightly still. He is good friends with an equipment guy for the Panthers too, so they would be the first to know(Employees of the team) when this is done.
