It's strange, I heard that news and I felt like if I've heard that tomorrow is going to be 22 degres with 20km winds with partial clouds.
I mean it just sounds normal. I'm getting so used to bad news, injuries, I didn't react. Just like last year, the year before, the year before, the year before, etc.
Of course I felt sad and anxious but I tought it's a good thing we still have Perreault as a #1 back-up center.
Without Saku we are brutal. I hope it's nothing.
Recover well and fast Saku.
In fact, the thing that should make you feel sad and anxious is the fact that Perreault is our #1 back-up center.
Well, you're right. Imagine a worst scenario: we don't have Perreault and Ribeiro is our #1 back-up center. ...maybe it's a better scenario but I would feel happyer if Arnott was our #1 back-up center.
It's not a disaster. In fact, I'd like us to tank this season, we could get Ovechkin, and since odds are that the 2004-2005 season won't exist, we could also get Crosby. That would be sweet. But we are the kind of team that barely miss the playoff and don't draft the future superstar, how sweet.

That's a good point. The team that finishes last this year could get both players.

honestly, I think that without Saku we have a chance to finnish last. Damn last. First of all, Theodore won't save this team. For ****s sake, stop thinking that the guy is the second coming. Garon could do better than him. Anyways. Our defense is slightly above average in term of mobility and is defenitively bigger than what it was last year. As for our forwards, pretty simple they suck. Take a look at what we got without Saku.
There's a lot of guys with almost no experience and a lot of guys with no heart and there's definitively no size at all... Think about it, if Saku's not here, he's not gonna feed one single player in that line-up. That's where it gets desastrous.
As for the defense :
Markov
Brisebois
Rivet
Souray
Komisarek
Quintal
----------
Bouillon
Hainsey
Dykhuis
Traverse
It's alright but nothing impressive. Above average IMO.
Theodore and Garon in the nets. Good tandem but the best goalie is the back-up.
I'm so impressed by all the medical types that are available on the boards. I mean, diagnosing him from a distance! Amazing. Not only that, but since it's customary to let a knee settle for at *least* a day before doing any real tests on it, these diagnoses of 'just a tweak' and '4-6 weeks' are stupendous since there is pretty much zero chance that ANYONE ALIVE has seen what's really up.
The most that would have been done is a "movement" test where they see if there's any give to the ligaments. This, however is hardly conclusive.
(Just FYI, a sprained knee is a torn ligament a significant amount of the time. It still could be absolutely minimal, mind you, seeing as how it could be only micro-tears in the knee which take only a little time to heal.)
If he skated off by himself, that's a good sign, it usually means no reconstructive surgery. Aside from that, there's not much to say until the *real* doctors make a diagnosis.
So, perhaps if we could all stop being the Montreal press (who create stories at will to sell their newspapers) and be a little patient, we'll find out exactly what it is.
I have a feeling that he just decided to take it easy. He probably tweaked the knee and decided that he might as well just call it a night, hell it's pre-season for god sake.
I'd almost guarantee it isn't a major injury.... I hope.
I'm convinced Plekanec (the poster) has something to do with Koivu's injury... I can just see him twisting the leg of a Koivu voodoo doll. Now it looks like Ribeiro will be the #1 center afterall. Better watch out Perreault, you're the only competition left!
