Were I a casual football fan watching this season, I'd think the Jets were the Major League (the film) equivalent of the Cleveland Indians. Like the ownership is intentionally trying to fail.

Terrible decisions all year, keep playing the bad starting quarterback, never give the backup quarterback a chance no matter how badly the #1 fails, the #3 guy comes in and does well and then he's never heard from again.

Not to mention other hideous personnel decisions, like thinking they had NFL WR's and running out dreck like Marty Gilyard and Chaz Schilens week after week, picking the worst times imaginable to run the stupid wildcat, thinking you had legitimate NFL RB's (in fairness to Greene he's a good complementary back, not a #1).

Sanchez has a 51% completion percentage, 339 yards, 1 TD, 7 INTs, and 2 fumbles in December.

Pretty sad how you can go from an awesome game Sunday night to a snoozefest on Monday.

Turns out I was wrong about the Colts clinching a playoff spot.

Only way they miss now is if there's a complete catastrophe and literally 14 games from here on out ALL went the wrong way.

Steve Young took Sanchez out to the shed and beat the ever loving crap out of him

The funny thing is, the Jets actually played pretty well otherwise outside of that 94 yard run. They ran the ball well and played pretty good defense.

If they stick with Sanchez next year because of the guaranteed money they owe him it will be hilarious.

So for the Bears to make it into the playoffs they need to win out and need the Vikings to lose one game, and one of the Redskins or Giants to lose one game. Definitely possible.

The Vikings game against Houston will be key. Specifically, does Houston start resting people this week or do they play everyone and try to hold the #1 seed.

I wouldn't rest players until week 17. They have a week off with first round bye. If you start resting players in week 16, you're making it so they haven't played meaningful football in nearly a month before suiting up for a playoff game. Play them MOST of the way through week 16. Play them 1/4 to 1/2 way through 17. Enjoy the week off. Play 2nd round game.

Vikings have to play the Packers too. GB could be fighting for a round one bye.

I'd almost rather sit guys in Week 16, then play everyone in Week 17 if possible. Even a two week bye can be too much.

The ESPN Playoff simulator has the Bears out of playoff if both Cowboys and Giants go 2-0 as well (Cowboys win div , Giant get WC)

If the Cowboys and Giants both win out AND the Vikings lost a game, you could get in if the Seahawks lose out.

Cowboys win division, Giants are the 5 seed at 10-6, Bears are the 6 seed at 10-6, Seahawks would be 9-7, Vikings would be 9-7 or 8-8.

The same scenarios apply if the Redskins win out instead of the Cowboys.

Bears need to win out and get some help, but they have a number of different ways to get help which is a good thing.

That being said, I personally don't think the Bears will get in.

The good thing is that the Bears probably have the easiest schedule out of the teams fighting for wild cards.

I expect the Bears to win out and be 10-6. I expect the Giants to win out and be 10-6. I expect the Redskins to win out and win the division. I think the Cowboys lose on or both games. I also expect the Vikings to lose to the Texans.

I just don't see Seattle losing to both the 49ers and Rams, which will be he last games the Bears need the Seahawks need to lose.

There could be some absurd string of NFL games that have an effect on strength of victory and help decide a tiebreaker, but I'm not sure if it exists. For example, the Bears/Lions game can help decide an AFC wild card tiebreaker between the Colts and Bengals even though it's an NFC/NFC game.

Yes but most of the rest of playoff field has tiebreakers over the Bears so even if they get to 10-6 there are many scenarios that see them on outside

If the Bears, Giants, and Cowboys all finish 10-6, Cowboys win the NFC East? Who holds the tiebreaker between the Bears and the Giants? Giants because of the better record vs nfc?

Giants would hold conference win %.

Vikings would hold division win %.

Seahawks hold head-to-head advantage.

I can't believe how many 8-6 teams are in the NFC. These last 2 games are going to be great drama..

Lol, well that's some circumstantial evidence for my earlier suspicion.

At this point, I think Rex Ryan would rather lose with McIlroy than win with Tebow.

God-forbid Tebow won the Jets last two games, it would be a political NIGHTMARE for Ryan, which IMO, is the real reason McIlroy is playing.
