Far Cry 3 (and Blood Dragon)

Anyone else a fan of this series? I know opinions were split on 2 but personally I loved it. Must've played it all the way through 3 or 4 times and that's with plenty of time spent on side quests and exploring.

Apparently the new one keeps a lot of the same elements but returns the series to its tropical island roots. They also supposedly corrected the one major gripe everyone had with the guard stations/checkpoints reverting to enemy control immediately once you passed a certain magical distance.

Also, animals that can hunt you.

I love the idea of animals attacking you. Reminds me of STALKER where there's more to worry about than just enemies. I'll definitely pick it up eventually but don't have time to play it now so might as well wait to see if it goes on sale.

I'll be getting it. I loved the single player in FC2 and IDGAF what h8rs B sayin.

Seriously though, I enjoyed the last one quite a bit, and I plan on enjoying this one just as much and with any luck a little more.

I'm also pretty intrigued by the new crafting system they added. Gathering plants and other objects from the environment to upgrade your equipment is more organic (pun intended) than hunting around for conveniently misplaced diamond briefcases to buy unlocks.

Am I the only one who is not fond of the graphics? So colorful, it looks cartoonish.

Ill pick it up at some point, but it is the type of game I will wait until a major price drop. Like most shooters for me.

eh, I don't know.... everything I've seen about Far Cry 3 looks great.... but I thought the same thing about Far Cry 2 and I absolutely hated that game for everything except the visuals.

Probably going to push it down to a discount purchase a year or two down the line, if at all, tbqh, unless I hear something major that changes my mind.

Game leaked earlier this week. I've been playing it constantly. 9/10 for me.

Critical reviews have been great as well.

Loved 1, loved 2 until I got annoyed by respawning enemies.

Gonna pick this up this week for sure !

Enjoyed the original, but I hated Far Cry 2. As for this one, ehh...I don't know.

I might get it in a few years when it's dirt cheap.

Anyone get it? Liked the idea of farcry 2, didnt like the execution at all. Hearing nothing but good things about it so far and it looks amazing. Worth a pick up?

The intro of this game is amazing. Sets the tone perfectly. Vaas is a great villain too.

For those on the fence based on FC2, don't be. This game is 10 times better.

Can't wait to play.

Unfortunately my hand injury is going to put a serious damper on my gaming abilities for probably another two weeks. Sucks.

That's good news. It was a shame they had to compress and speed up the dialogue in FC2 because the game wouldn't fit on the disc otherwise.

The map in this one is much much larger. More diverse too. Have a small problem with the draw distance. There's quite a bit of pop ins. But that can be accredited to the sheer scope of the game and current hardware reaching its limits. Time for new consoles! This and Assassins Creed 3 are perfect examples of teams being unable to complete what they wanted due to technical limitations

Happened to me so many times.

"Meh ill do this outpost and ill be done. Oh but there's also a radio tower nearby. Oh there's dingos near here? I'll just kill some to craft more. Oh that smoke stack looks close, this is the last outpost I swear. "

I was very excited prior to Far Cry 2 and then I was very disappointed once I got it. I'll wait a while before checking this one out.

Don't. Night and day difference. I was supremely disappointed in FC 2, but this game is superb. There is just an absurd amount of things to do
