Just got this game, wow is it amazing! I thought the whole hunting/skinning thing was dumb at first but it grew on me. One complaint is the driving is real hard with the view you get (I have driven over cliffs because the 1st person view sucks ) and another is that animals/enemies bodied disappear too quick. I will kill an animal but before I can skin it I have to eliminate the other animals/enemies, by the time I do that the first set has disappeared from the game.
As, I said earlier I really enjoy it, but now around 25hours in now it has become far too repetitive. Same things over and over - free towers, free camps, hunt a rare, hunt a camp... Very little if any diversity in missions. I still like it but I doubt I will ever finish it.
I love the fire physics in the game. Every time you use a flamethrower/molotov/explosive, you have to remember the repercussions that will follow from all the foliage and wood that will burn. It's so awesome to see a whole field burn.
I think this might be one of the most underrated gameplay mechanics in a recent FPS.
So the game runs amazingly well on ultra at 1080p, so I'm happy about that.
Would you guys recommend playing it with a controller? Seems like the type of game that would be more enjoyable that way.
Also what FOV is best in your opinion?
yep, for a game that looks so good it runs amazing ...ie, 1080p/60fps/vsync'd. loved it. (i did have to turn off MSAA, buy that's pretty minor in order to keep everything else so high)
depends on your preference. i played through it with the xbox360 pad. played fine that way, and i like the rumble feedback of the gamepad while shooting, etc. ...also the fact that i can just kick back and relax with the pad, is a nice break from constantly being hunched over at the desk.
but when it comes to the multiplayer (which i haven't tried yet), i doubt that the gamepad would be the ideal choice there. it'd likely be a little too clunky to keep up with other people using keyboard/mouse.
for single player, tho ...its good stuff.
i just used the default FOV. i had no problems with that so i didn't have the need to change it.
just finished the game. Both endings, all outposts, all Trails, all PoHs...not going to bother finding every damn relic, though. Had more fun freeing all the outposts than following the storyline, TBH, other than the whack ending (if you make the "wrong" choice, lol).
Multiplayer unfortunately is proving wholly unsatisfactory. Having trouble getting into matches and it takes *forever* to load anything up.
The fact that they sold a lot of copies and the next-gen consoles are on their way guarantees us another game, regardless of the ending, IMO.
This would look *fantastic* on PS4/XBox720....
Agreed. Would gonna get the next one for sure. You could tell it was a Ubisoft game though, because they incorporated lots of stuff from the AC series, which I don't mind , but it did get a little repetitive. Still nice to see a original game for the most part, I like what some gaming companies have done like Ubisoft and Bethesda with Fallout , and completely changing the game from the previous instalments.
