Trade one player on your team for the same number
Trade one player on your team for the same number. For example, for the Rangers, trading #40 Hamrlik for #40 Grabner. For the Jets, even though I really like the kid, I'd trade one Alexander for another, #8 Burmistrov for #8 Ovechkin. The player is immediately signed to a long-term contract with a NTC, so you can't trade for some number and immediately trade him for a different guy. I'm thinking that ignoring the cap would make this more interesting, but I could be wrong. If you want, you could post a cap friendly trade as well as an "ignore the cap" type trade.
I'm sure another Rangers fan can come up with a better trade than the one I posted, but I'm a big Grabner fan, so that's the one that came to mind for me.
I haven't posted a stupid thread in a while, so I thought it was about time.
New Rule: If someone has traded for that player already, he's off the table. Also, currently active players only, AHL players are acceptable to trade.

Colton Orr for Claude Giroux? Don't mind if I do.
(Ovechkin's been taken, otherwise it would have been goodbye Komisarek)

Or Komisarek for Ovechkin if players sent down to the AHL count.
Yes, AHL players can be traded, but keep in mind the new rule in bold in the OP.

#15 Tanner Glass for Getzlaf would make the Pens a little center-heavy, so I'll say #44 Orpik for Gudbranson.

If it has to be for a currently active player, I'd do from the Caps:
#55 Jeff Schultz for either #55 Mark Scheifele, #55 Niklas Kronwall, or #55 Johnny Boychuk
or
#17 Wojtek Wolski for #17 Ryan Kesler, #17 Ilya Kovalchuk, #17 Milan Lucic, or #17 Wayne Simmonds
Edit: Given the new rule and what others are posting, I'll roll with Wolski for Lucic.

Caps:
#3 Tom Poti for Keith Yandle (would also settle for Dion Phaneuf if new rule is in place). Hello Stanley Cup (with Yandle).
HMs:
#55 Jeff Schultz for Niklas Kronwall
#25 Jason Chimera for Dustin Penner
#81 Dmitry Orlov for Phil Kessel

Would you rather have Wolski for Lucic, or Poti for Phaneuf?
