There wouldn't be much pain involved in finishing bottom five in a 30 game season. I wouldn't say no to Mackinnon, Jones, Barkov, etc. Really strong crop this year.

Another thing I just thought of though, a 30 game season, top 16 get in to the playoffs, with one game against each team might actually be kind of cool. Every game would mean so much, it'd be like the playoffs every game.

Not going to happen. Bettman has already said they won't be going lower than the 48 games schedule from 1994. And even that is pushing it. A 30 game schedule would be a farce.

A millionare slave that gets paid to do what they love, no less.

I just think its funny that personally as a barely not starving student I can be happy and fine with my lot in life, but someone who has not only made it playing a game that they love, but has made it exceptionally well and is living well can't be happy with their lot in life.

I'll just quote Modest Mouse:
"If you think you have enough you probably don't, but if you don't you probably do."

Shawn Horcoff needs to shut his pie hole. That is all....

@SportsnetSpec: S.Horcoff on calls from NHL players: "I answer these questions the most: 'Why are we giving back anymore?’ ‘When is enough enough?’”

Today's cancellations obviously didn't come as a surprise, but what i did find interesting is games were cancelled until the 30th. I think the league purposly didn't cancel games on the 31st perhaps they want to target new years eve as a start date for the season. To do this they would need a deal by roughly December 21st, that gives them 12 days to make a deal. in this scenario they would play something like 54 or maybe just 50 games

Just curious, but what is Horcoff's part in all of this? To my knowledge he's not a current member of the NHLPA negotiating committee, nor is he currently the Oilers NHLPA representative. So why is he fielding calls and wiping Fehr's ass when it's in need of wiping?

Horcoff is a dbag.
One of the positives of this lockout is him missing out on some undeserved $.
Hopefully we never see him in Oiler silks again.

Nope,Oilerfans aren't that lucky. We've still got Horcoff for another 2 great years.

Thanks a lot Kevin Lowe for giving Horcoff that very incompetent contract!

For me the NHL always wanted to lock the players out. Hurt them in their pockets, win the PR battle and then get them to sign what they wanted.
Well your bias is evident anyways.

Still and all if you are a hockey fan, you dont know whats good for you. If youre a player or associated, your bias would be rational.

Two guys who really stand out as hardliners and in the press are Campoli and Hainsly. I had to go to hockeydb to find out what team Ron H even played for. I know Campoli was the moron who put the Canucks past Chicago the other year. These guys seem to have prominent roles.

I'd be half embarrassed to put up a stance like Horcoff does. He is the poster boy or why we need an "idiot proof" system lol. He's basically robbing Katz.

I've seen him in a handful of TSN's lock-out clips with the other players at the conferences.

Are you sure he isn't the Oilers rep anymore?

According to the site below Dubnyk is the oilers rep and Horcoff is the alternate. Horcoff has been at a lot of the meetings though
Not sure when this list was last updated though

Just saw this

ChrisBottaNHL 5:10pm via Twitter for BlackBerry® asked Bill Daly if he agreed with #theplayers assertion that a CBA could be done soon after they meet. Daly: "I hope they're right."

...probably some delusion that the nhl will accept another one sided proposal from Fehr.

Edit: looks like the 2 sides will meet again on Wednesday.

My point is i don't know what's going to happen the next few weeks but neither do you, my opinion is an agreement will be reach some people share that opinion with me, you don't think an agreement will be reach some share that Opinion with you as well
Many share my opinion. Many more than share yours.

No. He is saying "many" people shared his opinion, which in fact, is a bending of the truth, to put it mildly.

Isn;t Dubnyk the Oiler rep now? He doesn;t seem to be that much of an involved guy. Is he just sitting on his couch after that fat contract or what? Just practicing at the U?
