This is my preference rather than using a 2nd on the consensus top rated guys like Comrie or Fucale.
I haven't seen many new lists, but wasn't Martin expected to go in the 2nd ish?

WPG boy... that usually encourages many on this board haha

He's doing much better in Allsvenskan (0.921)
Re-signed you mean? Chet was given every chance to stick in the AHL and he completely failed to stick there, struggling even in the ECHL. But if his play really has improved he probably gets qualified by NSH. If not, he's probably not worth signing.

Calvin's the better player. Always has been. I am still not sure how Chet got drafted in the first round...

haha I said try out not sign... and yes I meant re-signed.
I was more actually trying to fish for people's opinions on him... mission accomplished.

That could be, but I remember others commenting on the prospects board that with all the forward and defense depth, that it is not inconceivable that he still be around come round 4.

Either way though, it would be nice to take a flyer on the swede, Hogberg or Finn, Saros. Eamon McAdam is an American, committed to Penn State I believe.

He's the best goaltender available (better than Fucale) this year, IMO. I see someone at least reaching for him, but in the 2nd he's not too bad value. No tender is worth a 1st IMO.

It appears that some people out his way are saying that he had serious skills as a younger player. Here's to hoping that he finds his game again in the Q and becomes a legitimate Jets prospect.

What happened with him in the NCAA route? He was having serious problems from what his point totals indicate. I don't want to put too much stock in having an overager play in a boy's league, but this should be good for his development.

From what I'm gathering, he wasn't given a lot of ice time this year. He then left after the coach told him he wouldn't suit up for the next game.

I'm not sure what that says about his character. There are other variables involved, I'm sure, but people get scratched all the time. I understand that the NCAA is developmental in practise, so scratching the guys you're building in your team doesn't seem indicative towards that goal.

He dealt with some big time injuries. A broken ankle among other things. Missed a lot of time.

I haven't seen him play, but P Williams saw him in person this year and says his skating took a huge hit.

Was reading the coachs comments. Cisse has played almost the entire year on the 1st line, yet failed to produce at all (0g, 2a in 13gp). He was given every chance, but as a redshirt sophmore he just was not getting it done.

Put exactly zero stock into what happens in the QMJHL at this point, IMO, unless he REALLY lights it up. Take a look at a recent example of a player who was struggling to produce in the NCAA and moved to the CHL at 20 as an overager...

It's gotta suck being the less successful Toews.

The Sleeper: Yasin Cisse, Right Wing

Years ago, Cisse was actually somewhat touted, but he's had an injury-filled career thus far. He's not an overly skilled player and does need to improve his skating, but he has some upside and plays a good power game.
From Pronman's top 10 Jets' prospects... Pronman made an additional 5 and then placed Cisse as the sleeper.

As Holden said, I put limited opinion in how Cisse does this year. To me, it all depends on next year in the AHL/ECHL.

Agreed. This year will only help him rediscover his core unless he really lights up.

Now we get to see if he can have the tools necessary to compete in the AHL.

I admit that I am a fan of bigger players. You can't teach size. I know this amounts to a philosophical stance on the game of hockey - but I am really looking forward to watching Ivan Telegin, Cody Sol and Adam Lowry develop. They could be mighty imposing in a Jets uniform if they can properly develop.

You can't teach size, but you can't teach speed either. I love that Telegin has both.

Speed (or lack there of) is why I don't think we'll ever see Sol wearing a Jets jersey...

You need skill with size in today's NHL... hopefully he'll prove me wrong with gaining skill (and not from lack of options).

What the hell is up with the Saskatoon Blades lately? Their last 3 games have had a ridiculous amount of goals for in them. Moreover, what happened with the Wheat Kings? Corbin Boes has regressed hard this year.
