Mika Zibanejad is the real deal.
The second half of the rookie tournament, his play has improved tremendously. Overall he's a bloody awesome PF that has some finesse to his play. It's been awhile since I've seen such a nice backhand too
So now we have seen him in action, what are you thoughts?

Hossa part two... that's my wish.
Has the talent but a long way to go before that comparison would be fair

Yeah wasn't long before I thought this too.
If this guy gets big, like 220-225 big, he could be somethin.

Will wait until main camp to get too excited, but I'm happy from what little I've seen/heard. Can't forget he's only 18. His development is quite outstanding.

He's got the whole package, and I suspect he will be a superstar in this league. Da Costa has been playing lights out, and I still think he's way behind the 8 ball to stay in this race.
If we had picked him first overall, I would be happy with the pick right now.

I don't really see Sundin. Sundin's was at his best below the hash marks, controlling the puck in the corners before methodically making a play.
Zib is more of a transition player like Hossa (when he was an Ottawa Senator under the Martin system), at his best when going full speed.

One thing that stood out was he won a large amount of faceoffs. I can't believe that set play w/ Petersson almost worked out again.

I see him as a Gretzky-Crosby Hybrid with a little touch of superman.

Another Hossa at least with more abrasiveness and gumption and motor to his game.
Heck Hossa was not this impressive until having a year in Portland after the draft.
I am afraid Mika will force his way to the team even though I think going back to the SEL would mean he would come to NA next year as a dominant young player and ROY favorite IMO.
He would go beasting in the WJC also.

Beats watching the slow footed Couturier float around the ice and cycle the puck behing the net the odd number of times I will tell you that much

Not sure about the whole superstar thing, but it is pretty obvious that as far as prospects go, he's one of the most well-rounded ones out there. The guy is just good at everything.
I was so disappointed that we didn't get one of the other 5 at the draft, but now I couldn't care less.

I really want to see a Petersson-Zibanejad-Alfie line during the preseason.
