I agree with the people saying there has to be something to this. Find it really odd none of the TSN guys have even acknowledged this on twitter, and going on TV reporting something as bold as this with your credibility on the line is way too risky for anyone to do if they don't legitimately know something.
Ive seen Burton on my local news for my whole life. I like the guy. Tough to put toooo much stock into it fully right now, but enough to grasp onto and hope for.

If there is one thing I've learned being a hockey fan it's that big news (be it trade or signings or whatever) can just as easily come from a left-field source as it can from the Dregers of the world.

I agree with this. I remember in January 2004, EJ Hradek on ESPN was 100% sure he was right about hearing the lockout was coming to an end. That clown never came back on air to apologize for his false and WRONG info. I doubt Bettman or Fehr would allow info like this to slip out.
I've felt for awhile that whenever the deal get done, it would be something completely out of blue and a result of a meeting that was pretty much a secret.
So this report would fit the bill.
I find it a bit odd that none of the TSN insiders have said anything either way.
