Players and owners still behind closed doors. Hovering around four hours now.

Yeah because the last 8 hour closed door meeting ended so well.

In the long run, the NHL couldn't care less about its public image as long as it's making money (this lockout has made that quite evident, unfortunately). And in this hypothetical example, we have the fans returning to the games.
Sure, they throw some monopoly money on the ice. Great. But they're still paying for their tickets, and the league is making its beloved cash.

It'd barely accomplish a thing. Again, maybe some happiness for the fans involved, but in the long run it will not dissuade this laughable league from locking out once again six years from now.
Definitely not arguing with you there, it would be a blip on their moral radar nothing more. Wouldn't have any lasting effect, but neither would revenues dropping. I'm sure it would be spun to a bad economy or poor team location, they wouldn't be all OMG we can't let another lock-out happen. If they would, they would have said it this time being 2 in a row.

if my calculations are correct they should be starting Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban in about 8 minutes.

Ya but I don't think any meetings involving Jeremy Jacobs lasted more than 2 hours

Good thing Fehr wasn't attending, he would just be showing up, four hours late, being the true professional that he is, LOL

I'm not surprised at all that this meeting is still going. Did we expect all of these players and owners to get together for a big meeting and it only last an hour and a half?

Nothing surprising really.

Revenues dropping (significantly) would definitely have a lasting effect. Money is what drives any business - the NHL is the poster child of that fact.

It'd have an effect, I'm just not sure it'd have the one you think. And it would take a lot of fans stopping being fans for that much money to be lost + some. Hell the last place I worked for had a suite at the Pepsi Center and where constantly trying to give tickets away. Those were bought and paid for regardless of if anyone actually went.
