Who would be more likely to be dealt if an active dman was included for a 2nd line centre?

Leddy would most likely be dealt

As Hammer wont carry the value to bring in a #2 C IMO

Hammer is easily the more expendable of the two.

But BWC is right that he doesn't have enough value to land a second line center. So if there's a trade to be worked out, Leddy is the one who would be in it.

We won't get a 2nd Line Center for Hjammer... but he is more expendable

hjalmarsson is easily more expendable than leddy...but as others have pointed out he wouldn't bring a #2c.

fwiw, i don't think leddy alone would do it, either.

I think it's Leddy who is more likely to be dealt.

But who knows what Bowman thinks.

wasn't bowman the one who traded for leddy? that might make him less likely to give him up.

Hammer and his contract.

Leddy's newly found AHL seasoning could help his progression into becoming the quintessential puck-moving defenseman on this team we hope he becomes.

Hjalmarsson is more expendable but Leddy has more value. However, I doubt either of them will bring us a 2C.

Yes, he was. A fact many either truly forget or choose to forget. Traded a downward-sloping Barker for him, no less. And also got what normally would've been a decent veteran piece for the playoff run if not for injury as well. Was a pretty damn good move to say the least.

I saw a decent idea on Leafs board and like it

Hammer to Leafs
Bozak to Hawks

Bozak is ok #2 C option and is good on faceoffs (52%).. Should have no problem playing with Sharp/Hossa and keeps Kane at wing and Kruger not in top 6 (And hopefully in Rockford)

Thoughts?

I would do it, I like Bozak, and we could replace Hammer this off season with someone other than Rozi.

I think Bozak could be a good fit.

Apparantly didn't realize how important Bozak is to Leafs

Who would have thought with a 5M C in Grabovski that he was so important

Most leaf fans saying this is no go since apparantly kessel sucks with everyone but him at C

No way would Toronto do that...depth at C is a huge problem with the Leafs (one of the reasons I wasn't thrilled they drafted Rielly)...and their situation at D (assuming Rielly is ready pretty quickly) isn't bad enough that getting rid of Bozak is worth Hammer in return.

We'd be better trying to dump him on Edmonton if we could get something decent in return.

Grabovski (5.5M)
Connolly (4.75M)
Lombardi (3.5M)

Um ,,,,,, Nearly 19M in money spent on C's not named Bozak and he is most important

Hell of a team Burke built

Krüger is a NHL player... you should already accept that. He won't stay in Rockford

Bozak for Hjammer is not good value for the Hawks.

I would rephrase my previous sentiments.

Leddy in a package would assist us better in getting a second line center, however, Hammer is much more expendable.

Kruger belongs nowhere in Hawks top 9

you should still accept that Krüger will be on the NHL roster once the season starts...

If the season starts. And we all know he will, but only because Q and Stan are both Kruger fanboys. However, I'm not saying he should be anywhere near the pro team roster, let alone the top 9.
