Nothing official yet that I've heard, but several sources have said it's done. Let's hope this is Official!
And there's some anecdotal stuff on the main boards.

Go back a few pages. Besides pandas can be a sign of overly high expectations gone awry (see also: Parise-watch / FA bust summer).

Cap # for 2013-14 season closing in. Confirmed #NHL offer up to 62.5M. Some suggest #NHLPA might settle at 64.3M which is last yrs Cap hit

Seems pretty reasonable to keep the cap at the same level as last year. Although the higher it is the better for us.

there is definitely a point where that stops being true. I don't think we are too far away from it either. Rich owner or not, we are a medium market team. We don't want the cap to go too high.

I trust any Twitter account with Hartford Whalers merchandise in the avatar. Jeff O'Neill's word is definitive to me.

I highly doubt we were offering Suter and Parise 100 mil contracts so we can part with Tanger/Geno in a couple years.

I think we have the money to spend to at least 70-75 mil. Not many teams have the personnel we do. And the chance to win every year b/c of it.

70-75 sounds reasonable. I would call that relatively close to where it is. I was just pointing out that there is definitely a limit to how high we should want the cap to go to. Obviously with inflation and stuff factored in.

Understood. My point is that I think we could have afforded Sid/Geno/Parise/Neal/Suter/Letang. I'd be willing to put that team with our defensive prospect pool and Brandon Sutter against any 100 mil roster Philly or New York would ice.

And on the 112th day, the schmucks who run this league said, "Let there be hockey."

And it was good.

Details leaking out.

--Nothing is actually official just yet. The sides have a verbal agreement on all major points. All that's left now is get it all on paper and sign off, which could take a few days. But the agreement should allow for all teams to start humming back to life to begin preparing for the season.

--2013-14 salary ceiling to be set at $63.4 million, the same upper limit as last season.

--The league indeed gave in on contract term limits, with a cap of seven-year deals for other team's free agents and eight years for your own.

--Start date and season length still TBA, but speculation was that if a deal could be completed ASAP, it could be a 50 or 52 game slate instead of the reported 48. Reportedly there is a significant amount of extra revenue that can be earned from sponsors if they play at least 50 games.

--A 10-year term for this new CBA. The players can choose to opt out after eight.
