Wanderlei Silva: "I'm training right now and waiting. I have a guy asking are you going to accept a challenge -- man, nobody has contacted me officially. The boss don't call me, so I'm waiting. The probability I knock out Chael Sonnen is very big. Man, everybody knows his game. He is never going to take me down and I'm going to break his nose with my knee."

Apparently Mousasi will drop to 185, that could be a really smart decision for him, he wasn't ever exactly huge for his division.

I think it's a VERY smart decision. Much easier path to a title shot, and realistically he has absolutely no chance against Jones. Granted it's only slightly better against Anderson, but he could get a title shot with one win over maybe Vitor say. I don't think he can beat the guys in his way at 205.

I like it. A lot of intriguing fights for him at 185.

Barao's title defense at UFC 161 in jeopardy, Dana saying Barao will "probably" be off the card due to a foot injury. Seems like a perfect opportunity to have Faber come in and fight Wineland again, winner facing Barao when he returns.

Barao officially out.

And I agree on Faber, that would be great.

Rashad/Hendo promoted to main event. Looks like they won't be finding a replacement to fight Wineland. I guess if Barao isn't expected to be out too long they are best off to just postpone the title fight. Or maybe if Barao is out for longer Wineland will just lose his interim title shot if Cruz is expected back around the same time as Barao, guess we'll see.

I don't know about that. There is nobody that could fight Wineland and be worthy of that main event slot, so they can drop him down onto the main card into an appropriate slot.

Also, Barao should be stripped of his interim title. It's an interim belt, if you can't defend it sorry then you're not much use as the interim belt holder.

Apparently the UFC wants Roy Nelson vs TBD opponent to fill in the 5th slot on that card.

Does Wineland want to risk losing to a "non-worthy" opponent though? I doubt it. A fight against Faber would've made sense but I can understand why it didn't come to fruition. From the sounds of it Wineland wanted to wait for Barao to get healthy in order to have that fight.

Could see it. Give Nelson another winnable fight, gets another KO, fans are happy, Nelson gets paid. Win/win.

Who's available for Nelson, Cormier maybe?

Edit: and there you have it, Nelson vs Miocic at 161.

Cormier said he wanted to fight on the Boston card, don't think they'd want to use him as essentially a filler fight in Winnipeg. My guess is that they'll just give Nelson someone like Duffee.

I'm very surprised to see Nelson accept a fight against Miocic. Other than a paycheck, very little for Nelson to gain in this fight and a lot of lose. I'm glad he's taking the fight though, makes the card better.

So Roy, who's been asking for a title shot, accepts a fight against a guy who lost his last fight? Not going in the right direction.

Gotta like guys like Nelson who step up to keep the fans happy.

Not so much recently, but that's why I started liking Koscheck. Two or three times he stepped up on really short notice to get a fight in. I know there are other guys who do the same thing, it's great to see.

I mean, I'm sure they get a nice bonus out of it... but still.

That's awesome. Brings a lot of much needed talent to probably the worst division currently. Or 2nd worst.

I was really hoping Nelson would fight Hunt or Cormier next . 161 is still an awesome card though maybe even better now at least IMO as I would rather see Nelson/Miocic fight than Barao.

I got a feeling him and Mir will fight, Josh was kinda hinting at it on the MMAHour.

Tough break for Miocic. Goes from a decent recovery fight to one of the most experienced, toughest, heavyweights around.
