I'd love to see Davis come in and get a win over a top 10. Not sure if he can make weight.
Glover was on med suspension, and I read (dont know where, so take it for what its worth) he's been in Brazil for his sister's wedding. Also, Rua previously turned down this fight, stating he'd rather be cut than fight him. Doubt Rua would take it on no notice.
I also cant imagine many LHW being able to cut down in time. If we see a MW step up, obviously Vitor would be a fantastic option.
My other dream fight would be Leben vs Rua. Crippler is on the undercard of 162, so he should be in decent shape (for him). Would be quite the brawl (until they both gassed mid 2nd round)
I dont see Rua staying on this card, though. Not enough time.
I don't recall Glover having any major injuries following his fight, so that seems like one of those standard medical suspensions that he could easily have waived. Tough to take a fight with Shogun on short notice, but if he's able to it puts him right there for a number one contender fight, so hopefully that's enough incentive. Naturally Chael offered to step in. The guy's certainly a character. That's (main) card's so weak I have feeling Shogun will be fighting someone.
And I know Shogun's not quite what he once was, but Ryan Jimmo? Come on now. The guy's never even faced anyone remotely close to Shogun's level. Shogun would smoke him.
I hope he smokes Jimmo, but Jimmo beats the version of Shogun that showed up against Vera. We've seen what an unmotivated Shogun looks like, and it isn't pretty.
Anyways, this Sonnen talk is intriguing but who knows. Sonnen loves getting his name out there.
I may be in the minority but personally i'd like to see Shogun vs Machida III. I'm just not sure if Lyoto would accept the fight on such short notice.
Other than that i wouldn't mind Sonnen. The guy only lost to the #1 and #2 P4P fighters since his loss to Maia in 2009 and he's a ****ing gamer. There aren't many guys who would accept to fight Jones and Shogun on a 8 days and 14 days notice respectively. And i actually think he has a good chance , especially if Shogun comes out as his unmotivated/in questionable shape self.
How ******. It's still not going to be as bad as Calgary so that's good for the Peg at least. But that really does suck. First, you live in Winnipeg. Next, your UFC card loses its main and 3rd best fights.
