You don't have to worry about that with Mir, he doesn't do that crap. He always sprung to his feet immediately against JDS when he fell (or was put) to his back, and did against Cormier I believe as well.

Poor Mir. The guy just cant get a break. JDS , Cormier , Barnett and now Reem in his last 4 ? Man thats nasty , especially considering that all are/were bad match up for him (Barnett to a lesser extent but he still destroyed him)

That said Reem should win this by KO/TKO early but Mir does have a chance. If he can survive the early onslaught then his chances increase dramatically. All it takes with Overeem is one shot on the chin and he crumble like a house of cards. I also think Mir has the cardio advantage

But still. Reem by TKO via knees from the clinch is my prediction

Yeah I think it's safe to guess Mir will either weather the storm or he won't.

Nate Diaz vs Gray Maynard at the TUF 18 finale in November.

http://www.mmajunkie.com/news/2013/0...for-third-time

Tough fight for Diaz who is coming off two straight losses.

Diaz beat him once, and arguably beat him the second time. I don't think it's that tough for him, Maynard is too slow to stand with him and Diaz off his back is always dangerous.

Hopefully it's the main event as I would love to see this as a 5 - round fight.

I think Diaz won the second time as well but Maynard is tough when he actually uses his wrestling. It most likely won't be the main event.

Ariel Helwani @arielhelwani
BREAKING: B.J. Penn & Frankie Edgar will coach the 19th season of TUF + then fight each other in a FEATHERWEIGHT bout next April

Ariel Helwani @arielhelwani
Dana says the original TUF coaches plan was Faber and Edgar, but Edgar didn't want to go to 135. Then, he gets a text from BJ Penn.

Don't care about TUF and this doesn't make much sense for Frankie but I'll always be a BJ Penn fan. I'm glad he's back at a proper weight class.

Penn at 145? Another fight against Edgar? Why? I'd rather see him at 155 again. I don't see how the UFC, or Penn for that matter, feel how another fight against Edgar will be any different than the last two. Ah well.

Pettis/Grant and Faber/McDonald are both being targeted for Fox 9 in Sacramento.

I don't understand it either but I'm glad he's back at a lower weight class. The match up isn't ideal and I think he's too slow for Frankie but there are some good fights for him at 155 if he chooses to stick around.

I want to see both of those fights and them being on free TV makes it that much better. Apparently they're also trying to get Mendes on that card and that would have to be against a top contender at 145. Some really good cards to end the year if everything goes according to plan.

Only bantam and heavy weights left. Flyweight is irrelevant.

I think he might pass out in the ring if he cuts to 145.

man if pettis grant happens i will be extatic. really wasnt expecting much from that fox card since i thought pettis and aldo would be too injured to fight and be on that card. what i thought was going to be the main event was mcdonald faber. be interesting to see how that fills out since so many top fighters are booked already for the end of the year.

Shogun-Te Huna will be the co-main event for the Australia card in December.

Pettis-Grant, Faber-McDonald, and Mendes-Lamas/Swanson would be three excellent fights. UFC likes to have really good main cards for the Fox shows so I'm sure they would throw two more good fights on there.

So bj couldn't beat him at 55, what is the purpose of the same fight at 45 after being on the shelf for so long? This wreaks of penn/pulver, another pointless fight.

There are so many good fights for Frankie and 145 and they waste him on this garbage?

Too bad bj waited til retirement to move to his actual weight.

So much for Pettis/Grant on free TV. Grant tweets that he's still hurt and he won't be fighting in December. That must have been one hell of a concussion he suffered in jiu jitsu.

Yup. Sounds like they're going to announce Pettis' opponent tonight. Who knows what direction they go in here..
