Very concerning.
Because if camps start December 14 and the season begins on the 20th as has been rumoured, those players who haven't played since June at the latest will be woefully underprepared and risk losing their spots or being injured as a result.

Usually. Although I remember us having a discussion on this on the Rangers board, and someone posted the standings during last February. The two WCF teams, LAK, and PHE were both out at that point.

The CBA expired September 15, teams were signing players for two and a half months before then. The only guys left unsigned are marginal NHL players like Campoli, as well as our own Petr Sykora and ex-Devil Jason Arnott, among others

Not true, there are a few significant RFAs that are unsigned like Subban, Del Zotto and Benn

Seeing how we had reports that owners went back and forth out of meeting and discuss it is only a good sign. Plus we had some CBC guy he heads one owner say it was a good sign during these back and forth meetings.

hahaha the way that was worded, if you said it how i thought it, was pure gold. I would have to think nobody leaving in 3 hours after being given a PA proposal would be a good thing

Talks are more off than on this afternoon. Both sides were in the same room for 10 minutes before owners went back in caucus.

I guess they went to caucus after getting the proposal.

And!? good, bad putting it to vote?

I have a feeling it will be an NHL proposal that is voted on, but the PA one may not be bad.

Haha, and Semin, and Doan, who went almost the whole Summer too. Think Doan went until September 14th the day before the CBA expired.

If you left for your job today, everything is done today? You also would have to sit around waiting for 2nd hand news.

This is purely grasping at straws. If there are things of concern to appear, it will be much more solid than this.

So earlier report is indeed true. NHLPA gave its proposal in first 10 minutes, and NHL has been pondering over it ever since.

Well fair enough but those guys are still under team control unless the system radically changes. But it does speed up the process or these guys will wind up holding out in-season.

I'm always nervous when the PA puts up a proposal despite my earlier confidence, I'm not going to lie. Especially as much as that weasel Fehr likes to try and sneak things in, and the owners are going to go over it with a double fine-tooth comb after they got victimized by loophole central in the last CBA.

We know that PA proposals haven't exactly gone well, but after spending the entire day yesterday, and part of today talking with each other, I don't expect the PA to be stupid and come out with a bogus delinked proposal. I think we're reaching the end here.

The script is becoming clearer. Hold a players-owners meeting, basically steer the players in the right direction, have them put it on paper, ask for a couple more things here and there, end it at midnight

Enough is enough, get the deal done NHL.

This proposal by the union will determine where this goes. If the NHLPA doesn't deliver what it said it would verbally then talks off rails.

Terrified

the longer the wait for a response, the better. If they are to say no, there will definitely be a counter-offer... It's probably what they are deciding on.
