For the modern era, Richard Peddie, John Ferguson Jr. (though he made some decent late round draft picks that are panning out now, but it doesn't make up for his long list of mistakes), Vesa Toskala, Ron Wilson
- Sean Hill. I never have liked him for a variety of reasons. Kinda wish he hadn't been a part of the Canes, even though he was ok here.
- Jesse Boulerice. He was a disgrace of a hockey player and not a legitimate NHL'er in my opinion. I didn't like it when they signed him and he reinforced that opinion consistently until he retired. Aside from numerous embarrassing disciplinary incidents at lower levels, he had exactly one memorable incident as a Hurricane, immortalizing himself forever as the guy who got knocked the **** out with one punch in this video. For some reason the organization still brings him back for public events, which just blows my mind as to why they don't give some thought to his reputation outside their front office holiday parties or whatever it is that he ingratiated himself to them.
