Got an assist tonight. For the record people were thinking Nino Niddereiter was a bust really early, but now he's ppg in his 3rd pro season.

Still confident in Zib, glad he's back and can actually get to watch him play now

Was that really a wide-ranging opinion or just a reflection on his point totals? Most of the stuff I saw on Nino last year was complaints and bemoaning about him being deployed in a horrendous manner by the Isles.

Oh, and about his PDO.

It was a secondary assist. Let's hold off building him a statue.

He looked good, he's thrives in chaos situations in the offensive zone, he likes it when it is a scramble and fight for the puck and plays are completely broken down, that's when he is at his best and can use his skill and size to jump on loose pucks and hockey sense to push guys out of position and create space for teammates.

but that nasty little delay Stone put on the two guys covering him for the De Costa goal, just beautiful. And I like De Costa, he has unreal vision and passing, that's at an NHL level already, can't wait to see him play in Ottawa one day.

Stone's timing on plays, his ability to find the right moment is one of his best attributes. His skating has become a minimal blemish on an otherwise extremely likeable player.

His skating was something that did stand out to me last night, the BSens were flying last night and when Stone has the puck he doesn't look slow because he plays with it like Joe Thornton but in the neutral zones and when he was playing D I was surprised how heavy foted he looked compared to his teamates.

i wish zibby would make a decision when he crosses the blue line

a. steamroll to the net
b. hold up and look for a pass/create seperation for himself
c. take the puck deep in the zone (corner/behind the net)

I really like his physical game, and he has a nice shot but wrists shots from inbetween the blue line/top circle are not getting him anywhere....his high percentage shot is gonna be top of the circle down to the net

i realize he hasn't been healthy for awhile but i think if he's going to make the jump he needs to slow down his game a little, hopefully making his speed even more dangerous while allowing himself more time to make decisions due to seperation

He's still young and deserves time to develop, looking forward to seeing him in about 2 years

Zibanejad has a trait that only Silfverberg can come close to. He is very clutch. When the stakes are high, he always plays his best. You can't teach that, he's a winner. In the WJC and in the Delegation round for Dj he was their best player imo.

Is that where the hockey players instruct other people on how to put the puck in the net for them?

Da Costa has the skills for sure, but his lack of strength/size added with a dash of Spezza and Turris may prevent him from being in Ottawa for awhile.

I'm also a big fan of Da Costa. The skills are there...size is always going to be an issue.
