Ovechkin. He still has the clout for #2, imo.

Best player classified as a goal scorer or the player who is best at scoring goals?

NVM checked the original thread, still Ovy as my number 2

It has to be Ovechkin, which is kind of amazing considering all the bad talk he's received. He just set such an incredibly high standard for himself

Crosby.

If he was to shoot as much as Ovechkin, he'd definitely score more, IMO.

Meant to vote for Ovi but accidentally picked Crosby. Oh well, doesn't look like it'll make much difference. Crosby's next for me anyway.

Ovechkin.

Any reason why Patrick Kane isn't on the list?

In what world are Ovechkin (70 goals combined the past 2 full seasons) and Kovalchuk (68 goals combined the past 2 full seasons) better goal scorers than Crosby at this point in time?

Maybe cause Crosby actually has to play games to be considered the 2nd/3rd best goal scorer in the world? 8 goals in 22 games isnt that great either.

Kovalchuk but I meant to hit Ovechkin (I know they're quite far apart on the list)

Crosby: 91 goals in last 144 games
Ovechkin: 70 goals in last 157 games
Kovalchuk: 68 goals in last 158 games

There's your bigger sample size.

Quite obvious who the better goal scorer is.

The hard-on HF has for Kovalchuk is quite astounding. ReDQless.

Maybe because by using your method of statistics, Crosby only has 40 goals combined in the last two season. Don't you look stupid picking the worst two years of Ovechkin's career and the two most defensive-minded years of Kovalchuk's career, yet they still have significantly more goals than Crosby, who is mainly a playmaker.

What hard-on is that exactly?

Most fans give Kovalchuk undeserved flak because his name is Kovalchuk and not Smyth.

Now I'm not saying HF has anything against Russians but....no, no that's exactly what I'm saying.
