I'll give you points for surprising me. I assumed that this would be another Ryan for Krejci thread.

There's no reason for us to do this.

I think Boston would say no to this. Not sure on Anaheim's thoughts.

Thanks but no thanks. Boston should keep them anyway and see how good they become.

No guys this has to go through so then Burke can go on a fishing trip with Murray, get him drunk and get him to sign the papers for Seguin+Hamilton for Phaneuf or Lupes.

There is this thing called the salary cap. I would jump on it from an Anaheim pov, They get a young signed Seguin and a stud in Hamilton who they would control for quite a while. Since they are not a playoff team currently this is great for them. Boston says no.

Anaheim would not jump on that.

Bruins get fleeced.

Seguin >> Ryan
Hamilton > Upcoming FA Getzlaf off a terrible year.

I love the thought of what Dougie might be, but I'd rather take the proven talent. As a Bruins fan, I'd use Hamilton + as the basis to a deal for 1 of them. I'd prefer Ryan as we already have tremendous center depth and need scoring on the wing.

Hamilton, Khokhlachev + for Ryan?

Close, interesting, for Boston to go for that I think it would have to be Getzlaff and Perry.

I think it's a good trade for both teams. It's not as if Ryan and Getzlaf are old, Boston would be scary good if they made this deal.

Boston doesn't trade Hamilton unless he is a bust at the NHL level. You trade potential franchise D-men, especially when Chara is winding down and there in no one else in the pipeline to replace him.

Does everyone not realize that we don't need Dougie Hamilton?

Right because Anaheim is a defensive juggernaut with 6 all stars on their back end?

For a player of Bobby Ryan's talent, IMO, it needs to be at least thought about. Also with Juliens defensive system, we might be able to pick up a UFA here or there and ride Seidenberg for a while.

Bruins couldn't because of cap reasons but a line of Perry, Getzlaf and Lucic might be hard to contain.

I think Anaheim would say yes. They're not really going anywhere and are receiving excellent value here for UFA Getzlaf and perennially disgruntled Bobby Ryan.

Boston would probably say no as they have the talent to remain contenders until Seguin/Hamilton are in their primes. That's really all you can aim for as a team - remaining contenders as long as possible.

So you wanna ride a 31 year old for a few more years in addition to an aging Chara? Hamilton is the future of the Bruins defense. you dont get rid of someone like him and fill his spot with a plug ufa. If you were thinking elite ufa then where do you fit him under the cap?

Ok fair enough, then the bruins will trade ol cement hands Paille for Etem. Remember Etem has no nhl exp.

Yes, yes I do. Both of those players are fitness freaks and have no history of nagging injuries. Not to mention how good our team defense is.

I was thinking a 3/4 dman from Fa. I know that we could never fit an elite UFA under the cap.

Marchand - Bergeron - Seguin
Lucic - Krejci - Ryan

I roll the dice with that top 6 and a Chara/ Seidenberg anchored defense.
