If we keep Luongo this season and he plays a big role in this team having another successful season, then I don't think it's logical to just dump him for whatever you can get next season. As long as we are winning and he contributes to our success then everything is fine.
It isn't reasonable to expect those guys to be happy sharing the crease forever more. It isn't reasonable for the team to continue to answer questions about it, or for us to have to listen to it. You're not thinking about this reasonably imo.

All I care is about winning. To me that's what matters the most. Not if you as a poster and fan are sick of reading stories in the media, or AV as coach is sick of answering questions in the press conferences. Winning.

What if we get a deal that helps us win but isn't what Luongo's full value is? You know getting pieces that aren't the be all end all but make us a more complete team that is far more capable of winning then one with a back up goalie being paid at least $4M?

So far haven't seen a proposal that falls into this category. Although perhaps something around Bolland and Saad or Teravainen would

Thats cause 90% of the "proposals" are from fans & not from people who are actually in the business of hockey.
I don't think we will get what we feel is full value but I think we will get pieces that help & makes us more of a complete team. No idea who or what that is but I trust in Gillis' ability to GM this team over us the fans who get over attached to players.

We will have to evaluate it when the time comes then. But garbage like Bozak and Franson don't help us.

And I'm not saying they are going to
In fact if you look at my posts in this thread & past you would know I want NOTHING to do with trading Luongo to the Leafs & agree that that return is garbage. Maybe not in the eyes of Leaf fans whose standard levels have drastically dropped but they are to a team that has a high standard level.
what is luongo's status right now anyway? is he practicing, training, playing somewhere? at his age , i can't imagine a full year off would be a good idea...

That's exactly what's going to happen, otherwise we would ice a team with a 9.3M tandem.
I hope if we do manage to get a great deal for Luongo that the people mocking y2k will give him his due for sticking to his guns and admit he was right.
He's covered either way as he also doesn't believe Gillis will want to wait long enough to get fair value, whatever that means.
