Are we going to have a season?

Topic is simple. Are we going to have a season? Yes? No?

Don't think so and can't see one, unless a miracle occurs before a month is done and over.

Of course they will get a deal done last minute. It's stupid to think otherwise. If bookmakers offered that bet I would drop money on that in a second.

Hear me ladbrokes! Get it done!

We might... but I keep looking at it as no. That way if it changes, it will be a pleasant surprise.

It's clear to me the PA doesn't want it. They only care about ousting Bettman, which is ridiculous of them.

I'm the exact same way. When the NHL publicly announced make whole was off the table they killed the season IMO.

My guess is both sides are going for a clean win or something like that

What is more likely?

1. World Ends
2. NHL season starts

I would not bet on the NHL season starting

I think this is it, where "Clean Win" = the side whose offer is ultimately signed, thus the cycle of NHL proposal met with "No", PA counter met with a "No" and a sneer, new NHL proposal with a few pieces of the recent PA proposal added in, PA counter, NHL sneer, and so on.

Yes.

They're not at the last minute yet...another full season lost would destroy a lot of the fringe teams, and those are the ones Gary looks out for.

If there is no season, I plan to stop watching NHL hockey for good...or at least several years (like when the Leafs make the playoffs lol).

I'm 95% certain we'll have a season. The 5% is to account for players becoming way too emotional about the whole thing. It's unlikely and if it happens Fehr will try to talk some sense into them. He wants the players to think they are being bullied, but he doesn't want them mad enough to throw a season away.

Back in 2004, in February when they cancelled the season, they had to restructure an entire CBA to include a salary cap

This time, they're just down to 3 issues where the majority of them aren't even money related, just term

Big difference

I just don't see a season happening. Both sides are way too stubborn. For a niche sport they can not lose EVEN half a season but they don't get that at all.

I hope they cancel the season ASAP. Going to take a trip to Japan or India in April

NHL won't be seeing my $$$ for a LONG TIME thats for sure. Another season lost and people will think we are back in the late 90's...

On the emotional thingy, I guess you missed Gary's press conference yesterday. He looked ready to tell his Mommy on that big bad Don Fehr!
