What the hell is wrong with google?????

Lately I've been disappointed with its search results, but not even being able to search the forum with it is too much.

https://www.google.ca/#hl=en&safe=of...w=1280&bih=901

Nothing, and then...

http://hfboards.hockeysfuture.com/se...rchid=18503931

It used to be the other way around. Google used to be great for searching the forum. I'm disappoint Google. Very disappoint.

I always do this (not so much for this forum though)

_________ site:http://hfboards.hockeysfuture.com/

works fine for me. You just type what you want to search and then, space, site:"domain"

edit: I think you just have to use the "hockeysfuture" part now.

Aha! You're right! Still, I find google is not the same as it used to be. It omits a lot of stuff, and often tries to be too smart and give you the info it thinks you need.

Search algorithms are like people; once they get big they think they know everything.

I've never had problems searching this site with Google. Just add "hfboards" to your search request, like so:

https://www.google.com/search?q=hfbo...with+Google%22

As you can see, it still works.

Haha, thanks. I actually did a contract double major in jazz guitar performance AND computer music...so that makes me a music major I suppose. The electronic music aspect involved a few programming classes where I was the only rube who wasn't a computer science major, and within computer music itself we had to use programs like Csound and Max/MSP which require some low-level chops/concepts to be sufficient in programming eclectic-academic-sounds. The only thing I'm certain of is that I'll never know enough about programming/computing, like music, it's a bit of an infinite pursuit.

Anyone remember the first time they used google?

I was a senior in high school and I just remember having my mind completely blown. This thing, it finds the things I'm actually looking for based on such little input
