1st round with 2012 and 2013 NHL Drafts

With last year's draft order, what would be the top 30 picks of a draft that had the 2012 and 2013 drafts combined?

My Draft:

1. Edmonton: Seth Jones
2. Columbus: Nathan MacKinnon
3. Montreal: Nail Yakupov
4. N.Y. Islanders: Ryan Murray
5. Toronto: Alex Galchenyuk
6. Anaheim: Alexander Barkov
7. Minnesota: Morgan Rielly
8. Pittsburgh: Jonathan Drouin
9. Winnipeg: Elias Lindholm
10. Tampa Bay: Sean Monahan
11. Washington: Griffin Reinhart
12. Buffalo: Jacob Trouba
13. Dallas: Hampus Lindholm
14. Buffalo: Maikhail Grigorenko
15. Ottawa: Rasmus Ristolainen
16. Washington: Filip Forsberg
17. San Jose: Hunter Shinkaruk
18. Chicago: Ryan Pulock
19. Tampa Bay: Matthew Dumba
20. Philadelphia: Nikita Zadorov
21. Calgary: Cody Ceci
22. Pittsburgh: Valeri Nichushkin
23. Florida: Derrick Pouliot
24. Boston: Darnell Nurse
25. St. Louis: Teuvo Terravainen
26. Vancouver: Josh Morrisey
27. Phoenix: Adam Erne
28. N.Y. Rangers: Radek Faksa
29. New Jersey: Max Domi
30. Los Angeles: Zemgus Girgensons

Good or bad?

Really like your top 10.

-I'd rank Nurse higher... IMO he will be the better prospect/player than Pouliot, Dumba, and Ceci.
-I'd probably switch H.Lindholm with Forsberg
-I'm not sure if Faksa or Girgensons would make the top 30

Of course, all just personal opinion.

Good list.

Dumba has the highest upside IMO but you can make the case for Ceci or Nurse. I personally dislike Pouliot but he did go 9th overall so I put him ahead.

Who would you put over Girgs and Faksa?

I would too but Jones is a better fit in Edmonton and Columbus can use Mac.

I think Jones and Mac are neck in neck and its need that seperates them.

I would switch Radek Faksa with Frederik Gauthier and Zemgus Girgensons with Anthony Mantha.

I'd still take Yakupov.

Although, I really like Seth Jones.

If I'm Oilers, I'd definitely take Jones. A Jones/Schultz top pairing, along with a Hall-RNH-Eberle first line would be lethal.

Then I would try hard to get Malcolm Subban from Boston.

People seem to be under rating this years class. should have maybe 3 players from top ten last year in this top ten. yakupov, galchenyuk and murray.

I think if Columbus wanted Galchenyuk over Murray they would have taken him at 2. Can't say the same about 2013 guys because they weren't available.

I'd be inclined to take a forward too, if it was the difference between getting Schultz or not.

And that's where it ends. We'd have absolutely nothing after the first line, and drafting Jones wouldn't even guarantee us Schultz.

A glaring problem, perhaps the biggest, in Edmonton last year was no secondary scoring. Yakupov solves that and gives us two lines that are a legitimate threat.

Jones would be nice, but I think Yakupov makes us a deadlier team now and perhaps in the future as well.

If a redraft was done, the only player I'd consider taking over Yakupov would be Mackinnon.

Calgary would actually draft 14th. Not that it matters though.

Yes, the Chicago Blackhawks would still take the elite offensive forward who's done nothing but prove that this year. I don't know or care why, exactly, Teuvo fell.. all I know is that Chicago is exremely happy he did fall and would have no intention of not selecting him again if given the chance.

You make it sound like you work in the Hawks front office.

It's definitely a possibility that they would take him again at 18th. He did (unpredictably) fall quite a bit in his draft year.... but I'm not sure if they would pass up on a Erne, Ristolainen, Gauthier, or Mantha in that spot? Teuvo was a great pick at 18, but this draft sure does add a ton of talent... very unpredictable (in this hypothetical situation )
