For some reason, I really expect Stamkos to start the year hyperwarm.

I'm kinda worried about Nash. Kicks ass in the Swiss league, but I'm worried that, in case of a return in the next month, with his recent injuries, he won't be able to come back strong. But lets hope he could "tear up".

Just quoting for the awesome Avy. Dees are my 2nd favourite team, not too many people proudly display their affection for the dees lately! Hopefully they come round in a few years.

I could see Duchene having a major bounce back year, even though he's not exactly tearing it up in Sweden right now.

Victor Hedman needs more love. It's about time he proves himself as the elite talent he really is.

Also, Eberle's shooting percentage has INCREASED on a hundred-something pace in the AMERICAN HOCKEY LEAGUE and that's why everyone is sure he's gonna have a 90 point season once the NATIONAL HOCKEY LEAGUE starts up again? Yikes. If anything, it's Hall we should be worried about.

And Giroux will never have a 100 point season unless he has an even higher explosion of secondary assists than he did last year. He's an elite player and deserves to be mentioned as one of the best in the league, but unless he's traded to the Penguins or the Lightning, I can't see him putting up those kinda numbers.

Umm what did you expect? Eberle's ppg and shooting % to go down in an inferior league?

I think Tavares will be elite the next season (be it this year or next). He's already right on the borderline. PPG, 7th in pts last year, 7th in GWG (surprising considering his team). And on top of all of that-his linemates are sub-par. Moulson was waiver-wire material before becoming a 30+ goal scorer playing with Tavares.

HyperWarm refers to the SportCheck and Nike pro sports ad that I seem to see constantly, these days, when I come to HFBoards. Stamkos is in the ad, When the mercury falls, only one will rise, HyperWarm.

Getzlaf will have a comeback year with Perry on his wing with offensive Boudreau-hockey. He had four seasons in a row going PPG or better before the last season slump.

Yeah, we should worry about Hall. He only has 19 points in 15 games, coming off shoulder surgery too.

Totally worried.

But, players that I think will be better than what we saw the past season or will enter a category that acknowledges there sheer skill?

Tavares is do for a 90 point season.
Ovechkin will bounce back and Backstrom will be stellar again.
Toews will be well rested and ready to go.
Giroux will be a 85-90 point player again.
Letang healthy will lead a rested and adjusted penguins D
Pietrangelo and Karlsson, well they are just that good.
Quick is unreal but i look for good seasons from price and potentially Ward.

Predicting the opposite?

Datsyuk remains a 60-70 point guy (no more 80+ seasons)
Weber and Suter become less effective without eachother.
The older lads, Selanne, Whitney, Jagr start to slow down and see production drop significantly.
The only reason Datsyuk hasn't had 80 point seasons the last couple of years is injuries. If he continues to miss 10-20 or so games a year I will agree that he will remain a 60 - 70 point guy.

I don't know about you guys but this thread is lacking some serious mention of Tyler Arnason. He'll be back, oh yes, he'll be back.

10-11 he had 5 goals in 5 games. 8g in 7.

09-10 3 goals in 5 games. 6 in 8 and 11 in 12 games.

This year he was slower to heat up.

No way man. Eberle, at 1.3 PPG is KILLING it while Hall at 1.27 PPG is Bust town.
