LoL, Stastny is going to be the first line center at Sochi between Parise and Kane. What the hell are you people smoking that he's still around at 11? Callahan, Brown, and Backes? Really now... this is just sad lol

Pacioretty was behind Malkin, Stamkos and Gaborik for goals at ES last season... I'm pretty sure he will make that team easily.

Very good goal scorer with underrated passing skills, nice work ethic, and at the right place at the right times.

None of whom are a skilled, particularly at playmaking, as him. Stastny is likely going to have a big role in USA's 2014 roster.

I agree Stastny will be the #1 but I think a Parise-Stastny-Kessel line would be better. That would be almost impossible to stop.

Agreed. I think Kane fits in better with Kesler. I don't think there will be clear cut 1-4 lines though. They'll roll with whoever's hot for the most part.

If Stastny isn't one of the top-12 forwards...

That's true, but to act as if they're not even on Stastny's planet is a fallacy.

Will Kreider be better? I'd say so. Right now? Callahan is a better scorer, better hitter, and better defender. There's nothing that says otherwise.

You just hate Ryan Callahan because he stole your prom date or something.

This is what I'm basing it on. In two yrs, I expect Kreider to be 25-25 PWF type that plays in all situations while Callahan Drury-lite in his last two seasons with the Rangers.

Well there likely isn't going to be hockey this year and then there's another half a season and change before the Olympics.

Do you really think Kreider is going to earn that spot over Callahan in roughly 55 games?

It really isn't as much time from now til this tournament as people think. That's why I'm taking Stastny's sub-par seasons into account.
