Can't use a compliance buyout on any contract signed after the lockout. Only on ones that were already on the books before January.

Like a Turkish bath. I bring 2-3 shirts to work and with AC, still sweat through them. But its not the heat, its the humidity! That's why I'm going to NJ this weekend So I hope they open up the last rookie session. Last year I came in to town early to catch it and they let me down.

I did see somewhere 7/15-7/19 for rookie camp. I think it will be quite the show. Lots of returnees this year.

It is NJD, you never know.

OT: I was in Nagoya about this time last year... I thought I was gonna die. So hot, and HUMID.

I really hope we don't re-sign Zidlicky. That would leave us with 7 D and no open spots for camp. I think Lou's comments imply they aren't brining him back.

I hope he isn't patiently waiting around for us.

Re-signing Zids PLUS Henrique and Josefson would put us $5 within the cap basically. I don't think he does it unless he unloads Salvador or Volchenkov.

I cannot wait to see the videos though:

I wonder if we will be able to read into the pairings..Gelinas/Merrill/Urbom/Severson/Burlon/Santini/Scarlett/Helgeson? There's your top 4 on both teams I think.

I hope Gavrus shows up.

Whoops. Must have been carry over from last thread, then.

Suppose DeBoer lets Kovy play LW this season, would our top line be more productive, or would it stay about the same?

PErsonally I think being at RW has taught Kovy the defensive aspect of the game... I would give him a try at LW so he can be offensively comfortable but have that new found appreciation for the defensive game.

I don't care about Kovy's defensive game

I want him to score goals. he is better at scoring from the left side, so he should play there.

but its pointless because he won't

Have to agree, we didnt bring in Kovy to be a two-way player. put him wherever hes gonna score the most goals

I agree too... but we aren't going to change the team's philosophy... There's really no way around it.

if they didnt move him last year, when our goal scoring was drier than betty whites unmentionables, we aint moving him this year.

does it make sense? no. but thats the way it is.

on a brighter side, if we start the season on fire like we did last year, and you bring up moving kovy to LW, you'll be told that as long as we're winning, you dont care where he plays or if he scores any goals in the process.

big picture, from a consistency standpoint- he needs to be moved. tg DM'd me to say he would bring it up with PDB after he and i went back and forth on this issue. im looking forward to his response

TG does look like he played D&D back in his day. Dungeon Master though? Hmmmm that's a stretch.

Would like to see Zidlicky brought back at the right price as this team needs all the help it can get scoring goals, but need to move Salvador or Volchenkov first, which will be next to impossible.

Will be interesting to get PDB's take on playing Kovy at LW vs. RW. Agreed with others that said he should be put wherever he can score the most goals.
