What I find hilarious is that over the last 3 or 4 years, Baltimore is really never able to bury us in the standings no matter how many times we open the door to allow them to.
This is one of the most helter skelter Steelers teams I can remember. They make you go from beaming with pride one week as they beat the defending champ Giants on the road or the Ravens on the road without Ben to total embarrassment and frustration as they choke like dogs against Oakland, Tennessee, Cleveland and San Diego. I think this team can legitimately beat any team in football and lose to any team in football. It's impossible to figure them out.
Royals basically trade away everything that got them one of the top farm systems in the league for Shields and a 5th starter/bullpen arm.
Friggen rays seem to do everything right. It's returns like that which make me sick that Hanrahan wasnt unloaded a season or two ago when his value was highest. Rays are never afraid to sell a guy when he's high and replace him with a high upside prospect. It's how they've managed to continuously remain competitive if not dominant in the hardest division of all professional sports.
Looks like Colon might be done for the season. Should be his last year with the team. He's played what, 12 games (and probably not 12 full games) in 3 years.
DeCastro should start this week, none of this Legursky playing center, Pouncey moving to guard nonsense. DeCastro has been healty enough to practice for a while now and he's clearly a part of the team's future, might as well use the rest of this season to get him into form for next year. This season is likely to be another 1-and-done if that. You don't have real aspirations for the Super Bowl when you lose to the Raiders, Browns, Titans, Chargers, etc.
DeCastro was coming off a very serious injury. I think the Steelers preferred to ease him back in with a lot of practice. Practice isn't nearly the physicality that awaits him in real games. I hope he's ready but I understand them being very careful about this. They have a lot invested in this kid.
Colon can drive you crazy. I've always loved the guy because he can be an absolute mauler in the run game but he's struggled taking too many penalties at times in his career and all his injuries are frustrating too. I'd hate to give up on him because he is so talented but DeCastro is certainly capable of playing LG and doing tons of pulling like Faneca used to and Ramon Foster has actually had a good year even though all of them played like crap yesterday.
