I haven't watched for the last few seasons, none of the singers really have gotten to me quite like Adam Lambert did a few years ago. He set the bar way too high.
Last season had some decent talent but once again, the voting public ruined it. I'm going to miss Steven Tyler's reactions and comments during the auditions. When ever someone sang something bluesy or rock he looked like he wanted to join in. Not forgetting of course the looks he gave to all the fine looking ladies.
I really liked the last few seasons of American idol. I thought they definitely went a different direction with the talent they picked up instead of just their stereotypical pop stars.
The last two winners, Scotty and Phil haven't been what I would call mainstream...and I actually like Phil's song....which is a first for me.
Should have just stuck with Urban, Mariah and Randy. The hell is Minaj going to offer as advice? "Your voice could use some autotune. I know the perfect place for that."

I only caught a few minutes in passing, but LOL at the asian kid singing a Justin Bieber song horribly then telling Minaj he wants to do a "collide" with her. so much fail.
This. What makes her qualified to be a judge of talent?
Presuming, of course, that that's the point. Which I'm thinking it isn't.

I was never a fan but I think the show has run it's course and shoulda ended when Simon left. The only season of this show I really watched was when Ruben Studdard won. Other than that I only watched ("live" or after the fact) the hilariously bad auditions. (William Hung, Pants On The Ground, My Brother guy, etc, etc.)
I did turn it on last night, however, while flicking through channels and I saw that one asian guy and was cracking up.
I used to enjoy watching this with the wife, but the addition of that hack makes it almost unbearable.
For some reason every time she opens her mouth I don't hear what she actually says. Instead all I hear is you a stupid hoe, you a stupid hoe, you a stupid hoe.
We get AI about a week later than the US but I've got to say the ventriloquist Halie was just awesome. Other than that, no real clear winners/finalists so far. The men have especially bland so far. Well maybe, Pappa Peachez and Adam Sanders. Some really good women though. Miss Baton Rouge Megan Miller and Briana Oakley had character though.
Low ratings, Nicki Minaj killing the show imo, almost no chance a man can win this year and it would be a shock if a man even got into the top 3, one of the worst years for talent, we like Angie Miller and Candice, but other than those 2, you don't have much.

After the auditions, she really upped her game, I'd say she was the best judge. She's been much better than I expected. Agree on the rest though, no chance a man wins since all the interesting ones from auditions didn't make it past Hollywood or Las Vegas. Angie and Candice should be the final two.
This is the worst season of Idol ever. That was the best 20 people they could find?! I find that very hard to believe. Very underwhelming bunch. You can't find one decent guy out of tens of thousands of auditions? I've watched Idol for years now but The Voice is MUCH better these days. It really isn't even close.
A mediocre season is being made even worse by the fact that the awful Lazaro Abos continues to get pity votes when he really shouldn't have even made it into the top 10.....I used to only watch AI but it is pretty clear that the Voice is far far better now.

votefortheworst.com struck again. Anyway, as soon as they got rid of him, the girls kicked it into a new gear. We had the top 5 on Finnish tv last week and Angie Miller and Candice had some stellar performances.
Yeah Candice has an incredible voice. Kree as well. And Amber is no slouch, one area where Nicki does have it right is she does sorta remind me of a young unpolished Whitney Houston.
Still find it hard to watch this show and then watch NBC's The Voice. That show has a lot of Lazzaro's.
