It's a shame that you guys lost, as Kincaid was a monster the entire game. What's the story with your power play?

I was listening to the end of regulation as I drove through Albany tonight. Lost reception on the station right after Etem scored the tying goal. Hope Larsson isn't seriously hurt.

Game looked ugly from what I see. 1-0 lead until a tie with the goaltender pulled for the extra attacker. They would have never won in the shootout anyway. I'm assuming Josefson lost the faceoff as he was on the ice for the goal against, and it was 6 seconds in. Let's be serious if it went to shootout they would have lost anyway. As much as people wanna believe it's luck, being 0-6 in shootouts really means this team sucks at them.

Good to see Butler is still hot. Hope Larsson is okay.

Zajac lost the faceoff for the tying goal, bad defending by Leach and whoever. Then it looks like Josefson wins the faceoff at the start of OT but Etem sneaks in ahead of Mcpherson and grabs the puck and then past Urbom for the goal. Bad defending once again by both of em.

Larsson being injured is my only takeaway. Assuming they get a deal done at the drop dead date, Larsson better be healthy and ready.

The good Gionta makes it 2-0.

Then 2-1, then Whitney answers back in 31 secs from Larsson. 3-1 Devs

My buddy watched most of it, but the stream died after the 2nd period ended he said, so he just listened to the rest on the radio broadcast online. He said he wound up finding out the stream was a little behind. Said it was a nailbiter with Albany blowing a 4-1 lead down to a 4-3 lead in the last 2 minutes with the potential tying goal hitting the crossbar with seconds left.

Hey is anyone else a little high on Joe Whitney? I know Zippy has talked about him. He's got the highest PPG average on the team, and only trails to Josefson, Larsson, and Butler. He was the teams leader in points last year. He's really small, but I hope if he continues to outplay Tedenby he gets a shot at the big club. He screams Gionta to me, though more Stephen than Brian. To me he looks like he has the potential to have an even higher ceiling than Stephen Gionta.

I was at the game tonight. I'll post some thoughts tomorrow but right now, sleeeeeeep.

Super quick notes: Urbom is a beast, Macpherson and Burlon are meh, Larsson and Yayo look a step above everyone, Whitney surprisingly has hands of stone, Butler has TERRIBLE vision and passing but everything else looks really really good (may have just beena bad game in the playmaking regard), and Jonathan Audy-Marchessault is a total ******.

LOL Curtis McElhinney! Isn't he the goaltender that was with Ottawa in 10/11 that we could only score one goal on when the team was finally running out of gas, and lost to a BAD Ottawa team two weeks in a row?

Your memory for goalies is honestly baffling. In a good way!

Those were two of the worst games of the second half during the Lemaire half of 10/11. After looking it up Anderson played the game in Newark, and McElhinney played the next week up in Ottawa. Those two losses, and the retro night shutout by the Caps effectively eliminated us from playoff contention all but officially.

I was at the Caps shutout with my then-gf. I was disappointed they never even ran the old goal horn, and they wasted an appearance by Bob Arsena.

Let's use caution on branding a player by one game's performance.

I was there too, and the game was like a trip back to the first half of the season. Didn't we outshoot them by like a 3 to 1 margin? I think they only had 10 or 12 shots, and scored 3 or 4 goals. We're 1-2 in retro night games now. Last years retro jersey game was one of the worst games of the season at home. It was masked by the fact that Marty made a bunch of ridiculous saves, the fact that the Pens scored 5 instead of 12, and the fact the Pens were on like a 10 or 12 game winning streak.

I have to agree with him on McPherson. Can't comment on last nights game, but a couple games McPherson was a turnover machine, and was causing breakaways all night, and chances in front of the net. Burlon wasn't quite as bad, but takes a dumb penalty now and again. Both are better than Corrente though. I feel really bad pissing all over that guy right now, but it is what it is.

Yes, absolutely. Never a good idea to use one game to try and project a full career.

Can someone fill me in on Larsson's game this year in Albany? Is he playing heavy minutes, PP/PK minutes, does he look like a stud/solid/just average ?!?!?!

Thanks

I've watched about 10 games, and he's been quietly great. One point off the team lead and is scoring at about a 50-55 pt pace. He's played both PP and PK and has been taking on the toughs. My one gripe is that he's only averaging 1.5 shots a game
