Just putting it out there and I'm not judging the trade just yet but the two picks we gave up the 30th and 39th in the 2011 draft to move up to select Tyler Biggs turned out to be Rickard Rakell and John Gibson.
Both of them have performed great at this years World Juniors.

Chances are slim that Burke would have drafted Rakell and Gibson with those picks since all teams draft rankings are different. For all we know he could have taken Musil and Jaskin.

Yep. He was great on the PK for the Americans. Best +/- of any American forward too(+6). Coming along quite nicely.
I went on vacation and just came here to ask how he played. I guess in the end pretty well. Before I left I remember people saying he was kind of invisible.

IMO He started slow, but picked up his overall effectiveness as the tournament went on. Had a ton of opportunity to pick up points, but couldn't finish on plays. He played his role very effectively considering it was the open ice (which I thought would limit his play).
I liked how Biggs went to the front of the net a lot when they had control in the zone.
He has the rest of the year in the OHL and a year in the AHL to develop his offense further. He did as well as I could of hoped on the small ice surface.
I was actually encouraged by Biggs in this tourney.
I've always questioned his offense, but I also questioned his ability to be a good defensive guy, and just a tough guy......but the skating, penalty killing, forechecking and down-low boardwork he showed this tourney made me think much more of him than I did before.
I now think he has a good chance to be a very good 3rd liner, and as always with big guys, you can never be quite sure that some late-breaking offensive development won't occur.

If he can be a ryan callahan type of player for us, I am a happy camper.
It doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things but just thought I woul point out that Biggs should have finished the tourney with another assist. He got gypped of an assist on Grimaldi's first goal, they gave it to Sieloff instead

Regardless he seems like a character kid we want in our team. Way to early and I've been saying there is no captain style prospect in our system but he might be the closest we got so far.

Having Biggs on the 3rd line eventually will help us out a ton. His size, PK work, and toughness will obviously be a welcome addition to the team. Any offense he brings will be a bonus. I'm hoping he can be our Troy Brouwer.
He'd have to take some very large strides to be compared to Ryan Callahan. That's pretty tough to project at this point.
True but he's gonna have to season his game in the AHL, I dont think he'll move right into the NHL. Need to take time with him.

I dont think he has that offensive skill that brouwer possess but I hope so!

Good to see percy doing well and Leivo doing well. Percy has been racking up points slowly in the second half if I recall correctly, he was quiet in the first half. He's still polishing his offense, I hope he brings more out even though he might not have any in his tank
