So yeah he was hired to do both roles once Peter DeBoer left for Florida
Maybe he was too busy thinking of trades for his OHL club while he was coaching in UFA?

He was the Leafs' leading scorer in the 196364, 196667 and 196970 seasons, and the team's top goal scorer in 197071 and 197273. Keon was considered one of the fastest skaters in the NHL, and one of the best defensive forwards of his era.[3] He would usually play against the opposing team's top centre, and developed a reputation for neutralizing some of the league's top scorers. In 197071, he scored eight shorthanded goals, setting an NHL record.

So yeah he was hired to do both roles once Peter DeBoer left for Florida. Basically DeBoer was head coach and GM while Spott was an assistant coach and also assistant GM so he was groomed for the role in a sense.
Hmmm, alright. They would probably do better if they slpit the roles

I'd like to see Rielly play in a few games to start the season if he looks good in camp. Does anyone know with the new CBA how many games are prospects eligible to play before a year is burned on their contract? Is it still at 10?

id imagine that's still the case, so we can give him that 9 game tryout.

Great. Very interested on seeing how he can perform in the NHL right now. Even with a good camp and good showings in games I still probably send him back to finish in Moose Jaw.

I'd hope he blows the camp out of water and then gets a shot. I mean remember Schiefele has the same impact last year but still was sent down.

Levio goes from being top scorer on the Wolves to top scorer on the Rangers

While I like Leivo, being Kitchener's leading scorer isn't exactly a difficult feat.

In fact all of our forward OHL prospects, including tough guys Broll and Rupert would be their leading scorer. Even dman Finn would be their leading scorer and Percy is only 2 points back.

I want rielly to be given the 9 game tryout, especially with Gardiner being potentially out for a week or two.

But hopefully he'll be sent back down to moose jaw. Then make the team full time next year.

It'll be a fun camp!

Leivo is gonna kill it on Kitchener.

Anyone else think it's hilarious that Corrado now plays for Kitchener? I wonder if it'll be awkward with Spott coaching him Corrado was probably thinking how he should've been on the team during the tourny, which I can definitely support.

A mini Leivo-Finn battle there. Reminds me of the Rielly - Biggs battle in the WJC

A boss prospect for us. I really hope he puts it all together for us.

I was at the game tonight and in all honestly I wasn't really impressed. Yes he got a couple of points but watching him play I thought he looked rather lazy waiting for the puck to come to him and always gliding around out there. That's just my perspective

Well he's in a new team on his first day, I'd give him some time. However for the sake of our franchise let's hope you are wrong

CBA has to be signed, but I saw a promo on LeafsTV for it where they said they were coming soon. I am very intrigued.

What the hell is going on with Faksa this year?
