Unless there has to be a built in no trade clause by default so teams (Flyers haha) don't sign long term deals then ship the players off. I think a no trade/no movement would make sure teams don't mess around.

i think some are returning due to tax laws. like Landeskog. Wayne Simmonds returned for other reasons that dont need to be mentioned.

Hearing 2 other NHL teams have staff called back or on standby. That's 4 total. Again, could be precaution. ****'ll move fast after deal.

Hear rumblings support staff called back/on standby for at least 2 NHL teams this week. Could be precautionary. "'Hopes, don't get up..."

My read is that we should have a deal soon. Bettman and the owners orchestrated attempt to break or at least divide the PA last week failed. You certainly can't blame them for taking one more try at this as it has worked in the past. Now that bith sides realize that neither will cave it's time to wrap up the last two or three easily solvable issues and get the game on the ice by January 1st. This is probably the date that both parties had in mind in any event unless they got everything they wanted in the negotiations.

What's Hartnell going to do when that silent majority soon decides to speak up at the same time. Is he going to beat up 400 players?

And the only thing I had to be happy about was that Flyers players weren't saying stupid crap...

Guess that bit of positivity is gone.

Ah yes, the mythical silent majority again. Of course since they are silent no one can prove that they don't exist.

what are you people reading? sounds to me like hes saying , "dont expect teammates to have your back."

I dont see how that equates to Hartnell threatening him.

Yeah, not sure why they think it's a threat.

At the same time, it remains a pretty pathetic tweet. Not that I had much respect left to lose for Scott Hartnell, but still.

Please, by game five the whole thing will be forgotten. And if there is no season Hamrlik is retired so who cares?

Plus I would bet money a lot more people think like Hamrlik at this point, and if they put the offer to a vote the hardliners like Upshall, etc. wouldn't like the result.

A deal is within reach this week. Let's hope Bettman's and Fehr's lawyer reptile brain doesn't kick in and figure they'll have a little more leverage once the season is on line in January so they'll waste more time.

Realistically everyone involved should be smart enough to get it done, but this whole process has been done so badly by both sides that I wouldn't be surprised if they screw it up again.

I wish the players weren't there. They have seen/heard/said enough. It should be the Fehrs... Bettman/Daly, and the lawyers. Bang it out.

Everyone will have their opinion. My guess is that if they had a vote right now and the leadership within the NHLPA did not support the deal we would see at least 90% of the NHLPA vote against it. Probably even closer to 100% than that. This mythical player discontent with Fehr is just NHL propoganda that many on here have accepted without any evidence.

Good on Roman Hamrlik speaking up. Hopefully he doesn't let idiots like Hartnell put him down.

He's basically saying watch your back when they get back playing because either teammates won't help him or opposing players will go after him constantly. It's pathetic. Once the CBA gets done that should be it. End of story, time to play hockey. Hartnell is a moron. I really don't understand some of these guys. Whether it's Hartnell, or Parenteau, Upshall, these guys are idiots! There is no filter in their brain.

I admire Hamrlik standing up for what he believes no matter what flak he gets

Guy has earned the right and as he pointed out yesterday he is one of the few left who has been part of all 3 lockouts

I don't think this is it, I think it is the believe amongst the rank and file player that this is not about THEM but about the the upper echelon players keeping 'theirs'.

I have seen too many quotes, anonymous and on the record, to believe otherwise.

I would laugh if Hamrlik came back full beast mode that nobody knew he had in him and was laying people like Hartnell out Scott Stevens style.

Really the only player I've gained respect for during this whole thing besides Hamrlik is Andy McDonald, guy understands it's a two way street and doesn't say anything without a shred of thought put into it.

Well most peopke with money watch what they say and do because they want to continue to have money. They fear lawsuits and leeches and many other things that could take money from them. Most wealthy people are not like reality TV wealthy people.
