We traded a guy that plays exactly like that for the same guy.

They have the same playing style but Sefton is a much better player.

Not from what I've seen of Sefton lately. Change of scenary maybe good but from what I've seen they're the same.

He's probably got a bigger right then Raine though.

I have not seen Sefton play all year but I did not hear he was not playing well. I think like you said the change of scenery will do him well.

Sefton came into the league with lotsa hype and never lived up to it. Maybe a change of scenery is what he needs.

Weird eh ?

I don't think the difference in talent levels is a huge gap here. But maybe some underlining things at work behind the scenes.

Raine has really improved if you flip the calendar back one full year, he has bought into the work ethic thing.

If you think Sefton and Raine are the same player, then you don't have a clue about hockey. I like Raine, and I would have liked to have him next year, but Sefton is a better defenceman and a tough SOB. My favourite Sefton moment;

I figured that's you meant and is the reason I love it. A spits type player.

I think it's an upgrade ( may e not a huge one) but it only cost a cond 4th and Rai e made his bed that last suspension ( if not before) stupid timing with 3 D out already and Mark was pissed

Well with Sefton chances are pretty good your OA's next season will hopefully be Seth, Broady and Sefton...which is what the conditionals are probably in there for.

Have you seen Sefton this year??? Turnovers and poor in his own zone. A change of scenary like I already mentioned maybe a thing he needs to get back to the player he was suppose to be.

I know he has a bigger right hand then Raine does. Anytime I've seen Sefton I see the same player more or less then Raine. Sefton maybe a bit better player but IMO not enough to make this deal. That's just me though.

Only time will tell, but not a fan of the move either. Sure slight upgrade for this year, but I don't think Sefton will be back next year and Raine will be. For that reason alone, I don't like it.

If he turns out to be more of an upgrade then I think he is....great! But I'm not convinced.

Its a lateral move, amybe a slight upgrade, def in the fistacuffs dept. (not that thats a big deal anymore unless your a Spits fan )

I believe and have thought so for awhile, that its other stuff. Maybe Sefton does trend up with a different role, less minutes and a good supporting cast and D partner?

So be it, the move doesnt hurt us in any way

This year!!!! The move doesn't hurt us this year. The entire forward group should be back next year, but we will need some D next year and now we will need one more! Again, my opinion.

.....but we'll worry about that next year!

Just my belief that Sefton will not be back next year and Raine will be. If he's as good as some of the posters are making him out to be, there should be zero chance of him returning for OA season. Only time will answer that one!

Very strong rumour....Trochek is Plymouth bound!
Deal is made and waiting for league approval.

Hearing US world jr Vince Trochek to Plymouth. Bratina and picks to Saginasty. Vellucci keeping pace with Hunters and Spotters
and apparently it was talked about on the Erie game broadcast.

If that happens we get a 4th I think I read so that can be flipped (with something for a dman next year)
If they both come back it only costs us a 3rd for the uprgrade for 1 1/2 years.

Maybe the D pairs will be Harrington-Hughes, Maatta-Sefton, Zadorov-Mermis? Not sure if Mermis can play on his off side but Harrington and Maatta have before. Liberati is the 7th d-man unless Hunter is working on a monster deal but I would guess that this is it. I don't think you can criticize how the D has been built. Really like it.
