Ok, ok, I draw the line at cabbage. That can be nasty.

Worst I can say is that I go to work, and come home from work in the dark. Of course my co workers tend to think I'm in the dark all day.

Can't wait for the tournament to start. Enjoy

They aren't "complaining about the sun".

They are using artificial light as one component of many in an effort to combat the effects of jet lag/ travel fatigue. See the following...

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sport...rticle6524367/

NHL teams employ similar methods to combat travel fatigue, but this thread I'm guessing simply serves as an opportunity to highlight the ignorance of certain posters to that fact, either that or some people just need to get a cheap shot in at Canada - probably due frustration that Canada most often wins this tournament. That frustration is driven by that the comparative record of countries such as the US, Sweden, Finland, etc. is downright embarrassing. Canada must be doing something right by that measure.

Scroll down to the medal table at the bottom...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...ship_medalists

Carry on!

And these boys never will be if they can't leave their pampered, wonder bread lifestyle at home. Whatever the Russians eat seems to be working for them since theyve been busy WINNING over the past few years.

This has Nugent Hopkins' fingerprints written all over it.

In a way I agree, it may make players later think they are entitled to the best of things i.e. Turris scenario in Finland.

but also having a team chef is helpful to make sure you can keep an eye on dietary requirements etc etc

I'd say it has major international sports fingerprints all over it. It's not like this is the first time a major sporting team has had a chef while travelling internationally.

I wonder how they ever got by on that three hour flight with the other teams, no way they would risk sharing their lights on the plane and lose their competitive advantage.

the front two guys look at each other like they are enemies or something, i guess the lack of sunlights begun to affect them
but seriously, if they win gold all teams will flaunt these lamps next year

I think Canadians should feel safe in Ufa mainly because as an officially sanctioned event in Russia they will be given strong official protection.

I would sadly hesitate if I were a non white skinned person going to certain parts of Russia but fortunately Ufa has been relatively free of incidents.
The day people realize that "Europe" is not one unified cultural region and that "Europeans" as a demonym is an artificial construction not based in shared identity will be a good day for knowledge and enlightenment. One could even say for intelligence. The area "Europe" is just lines drawn on a map surrounding various very distinct independent national states and cultures. Some European countries have as much in common with some others as Maine has with Haiti. Please understand this.
