Things You've Yelled At Players At Games [+ Reactions]

I'm normally pretty obnoxiously vocal at storm games.

When the Otters came to play, I did some digging, and found out McDavid gets teased in highschool for looking like a little boy so I yelled

"Hey McDavid! Go through puberty first and then play in the OHL."

He looked over at me. I've never seen a player actually look hurt by a comment I've yelled before. Storm went on to win the game, McDavid wasn't a big factor.

From then on I kept yelling things, but nothing else which I can post on hfb.

Anyways, any good stuff you've yelled/done to players/refs, and did you get any reactions?

ie...

My other idea was to get a life sized cut out of this picture...

And put it up against the boards when Chara is looking.

^^ some teams fans did it with Keslers pics. "Put some clothes on Kes". I think it was a divisional game but not sure.

Imagine how awkward it would actually going out and getting that cutout.

Not really said anything specific but it felt nice to boo Bryzgalov off the ice during a Flyers/Pens game last year in Philly.

I had been yelling at my computer for far too long, I had to do it person.

Can't stand the so-called fans who yell stupid stuff at games. Like it makes any difference whatsoever. All it does is bump your own self-esteem up and make everyone around you want to punch you in the face.

Once in minor league game in Finland a player wasn't paying attention to his remaining penalty time. I yelled at him "Hey Timo, the penalty is ending!" and the reaction clearly was that only then he noticed he needs to go. It was exactly on the right time!

I was sitting behind the Red Wings bench at an Oilers vs Red Wings game here in Edmonton in 2009.

Anyways, Steve Staios (infamous for his stone hands and dumb decisions) suddenly went on a rush up the ice, and even managed to pull a move on a Detroit defenseman in the process. Nothing really came of it, but it excited the crowd in what until then had been a boring 3rd period.

I yelled out "Hey Datsyuk, Staios has your hands!" as loud as I could. 2/3 of the Detroit bench turned around and started laughing. I even managed to get Mike Babcock (who I'd been trying to chirp the entire game) to turn around and give me a smirk.

For me, Babcock smirking is equivalent to Vigneault's tear-jerking laugh episode after Fiddler's little charade.

It's fun if you say something witty and inoffensive

Once after becoming incredibly frustrated in game 1 of the 2010 playoffs between the Devils, and Flyers I freaked out. I couldn't understand why we couldn't score a goal on Brian Boucher, and we finally scored with a couple minutes left in the game, and I was laughing, and heckling Boucher, and yelled ''How do you like that career backup!?'' with some inappropriate words in between.

Actually it wasn't that game 1. It was game 2, and we scored 3 goals on him. I sat a few rows behind the net where the Devils defended twice so it had to have been in the 2nd period. I think it was a goal by strictly defensive defenseman Colin White.

"Hit him with your purse, 'insert-player's-name-here'!"

That's about it.

At a game in Ottawa I yelled 'raaaaaattttttllleeeeddd' at Henrik Lundqvist for like an hour. I think he got a shutout.

I actually got into it with Graham Mink about 10 years ago in Manchester. At the end of the first period I was giving him crap because he just got his ass kicked by Joe Rullier at the end of the period of a game. Graham yelled at me "shut the **** up". He actually started stopped to say it in the runway. He got chewed out by his coach in the runway. He didnt even look at me when they came out for the next period.

Someone post that video where a guy yells at Sean Avery and Avery asks him if he's got a dental plan or something like that.

I was at my cousin's junior game a few weeks ago and I'm so close I **** you not I'm leaning up against the boards right behind the opposing goaltender.

I happened to catch a puck the previous period, and like I said I'm right behind the opposing goalie. So the poor sap let's in a weak goal glove side so I start banging on the glass with the puck (which was obnoxiously loud) and I yell at the goalie "HEY LIPSKY I CAUGHT MORE PUCKS THAN YOU DID TONIGHT!!!!!"

He just turned around and shook his head at me

Had seats right behind the away teams (Avalanche) penalty box. Just yelled stuff like what a dumb penalty to take, how their coach was going to be pissed at them, that's all the ice time they were going to see that night, (for the 4th liners) you're getting sent back down.

Only things in good fun, nothing ever malicious.

If he's as good as they say he is, he damn well better get used to it.

Hell, the fact that people are associating him with Crosby is bound to breed haters.

Getting Babcock to smirk during a game is like getting Ghandi to beat his own kids...
