This is very similar to the Yankees signing Kevin Youkilis.

Dempster is clearly in decline and unlikely to be a real solution in the rotation...but the Sox desperately needed someone, and it's not like the market is deep at this point.

Love it as a Jays fan.. I like Dempster, but an ERA over 5 in the AL west was no fluke. Dempster is trending the wrong way and I'm suprised he didn't go back to the NL.
