To the game. No pairings on the Rangers are ever permanent. McEneny i think has played with 4 D partners this season. Players are dropped on top lines and top pairings all the time, especially when they are vets in this league. Look at Graovac. First line in his first game with Belleville, no practice time.
But i guess anything can change. I've been wrong a lot lately! The writer always posts the line ups on his blog before the game: http://therecord.blogs.com/rangers_report/
In any case, Corrado has already proved his worth to Spott, who's had plenty of help in contemplating the lack of defensively-sound D on his hand-picked WJC squad. After that fiasco, and the media rippings, Corrado will be Spott's new golden boy if the coach has a spot of remorse about his stained reputation.
Corrado just never seems to disappoint. New team, new system, new everything and he's doing well. Would like to hear from someone on how his actual play is.
Both Corrado and McEneny had a steady game, though they didnt really stand out today
.
ive seen Corrado tried to clear along to boards backhanded but didnt work quite often probably b.c he was on the wrong side. His partners were all over the place. i think he got paired every single defensemen throughout the game like multiple of times...
McEneny was pretty good clearing along the boards but couldnt really paid much attention to him b.c Ryan freaking Murphy was on the ice literally every second shift or something.

I get the feeling that Corrado was brought in to play defense while his partners jumped in more. Not sure if I want Corrado with Murphy of all people, but it could be good for Corrado's development defensively I tell ya.

Yep. Corrado will have the defensive ability to cover both wings/sides after playing more and more with Murphy. Kind of why I don't mind him playing with Murphy, lots of practice on the defensive side of the game, likely. I don't watch Murphy and don't know how much he pinched in without Corrado backing him, but maybe he feels more tempted to jump up in the offensive zone? Although I think Murphy played with Fanelli and he was always backing him before Corrado came there.

i think u misinterpreted that part. it was meant as he had so many new partners per shift, it was like he went through the line up all over the place or something. But he did had to deal with that just so u know

I read it right, I just read after the trade happened yesterday, Corrado was mostly going to play with Murphy. Spott was likely just seeing how he'd do with everyone else rather than just Murphy. Hopefully McEneny and Corrado play together, that's if they don't play on the same side, which I'm unsure of. Would be nice to see two Canucks prospects side by side.
Man, i have not seen a period where the defense pairing constantly changes like...every shift! thefeebs was right about that one for sure
There was a lot of mix & match defense pairs tonight because the 6th defenseman went out with an injury in the first period. Corrado played really well with all of the other 4.
Really nice setup by Corrado on the Marcantuoni goal. He's really accurate with a snap from the point, whether it's towards the net or a teammates stick it would seem.

Ah, so there was a reason for that; thanks for the info
A couple notes I picked up from that sweet Rangers blog (these are from after last night's game) the feebster posted, looks like the intention is less for Corrado be a baby sitter and more to help provide offence:
"- One aspect of the Corrado acquisition that I like is that it gives Ryan Murphy some relief as an offensive defenceman and hopefully reduces his minutes to a more manageable level.
- Corrado and Ryan Murphy on the point of the power play is a one-two defensive combo the Rangers haven't seen for a while.
JB's top three Rangers: Josh Leivo, Frank Corrado, Josh Sterk"
So Honzik saves guess this, 21/23 in the first period...first period!!!! unbelievably horrible team he has in front of him
Although one thing that i noticed he doesnt suck and im pretty confident that he wont screw up is puck handling.
wished he got trade at the trade deadline to other team..
