Weird question, but does anyone know how wide a post is in pixels? I've started work on my next GDT and was thinking of useing a pic that would fill the whole post.
I realise vertical can be anything, but what's the limit horizontally to fit the screen?
You want to fill the entire post box, correct?
If my assumption is correct then my answer is damned if I know, since the board resizes images to keep them from blowing the whole thing up (unless you chop them up, of course). It's sort of a PITA if you're looking to do something that amounts to adding a huMONgous image.
I went and looked at a couple of other GDT's while working on mine to see how they chopped their images if that helps. You could split the difference and build an image that fits the "most common" display resolutions.
So, short answer: I have no idea what the max size is when you factor in the "stretch" from every person's display resolution.

I'll have to play around with it, I know it adjusts to resolution, but I've also noticed on my monitor, some things get squashed//fitted to it and other things that look bigger fit for some reason.
All good tho, I'll make it work. My skills in MS Paint are without equal
So I've been at a job since late September. It was a good job at a good company. Very laid back, office environment atmosphere. Got called into the CFO's office today to be told my position is being eliminated and I'll have to leave immediately.
No reason, no warning, nothing. Just shellshocked right now.

Damn that's awful and pretty ****ed up. Seems to be a common story these days unfortunately. Hopefully you can find something new quickly; best of luck.

Ouch, man. Not good. Sorry to hear about that.
It's a weird time out there. Just out of curiosity, and you can be as general as you like, but what type of industry do you work in?

Software. Recruiting department. I'm not entirely surprised that it happened, just that it happened as quickly as it did. Company was on a big hiring kick, so I was hired to lighten the workload for the recruiters. The kick doesn't end until May (at the earliest) though, so to have it come now was a big surprise.

NC with their "At Will" employment laws...
It's brutal when they do **** like that. Borderline inhuman. At a job I used to work at, we used to joke that "5 'til 5 on a Friday is a weird time to call a meeting," but we weren't joking by much sometimes.
Frankly I get a little tired of that sort of nonsense, all the way from never returning phone calls or announcing a position has been filled when you're applying, all the way up to that "Step in my office so I can hand you a box" routine.
Never had it happen to myself (yet), thank God, but it seems like in the last month or so I've heard a couple of stories too similar to yours.
I was not a huge fan of his last summer. Kind of seemed really smug to me. Didn't know it was on this level though. Not saying that this proves it, just seems like the typical excuse.

I celebrate these days when I get a rejection notice, because at least someone is acknowledging that they noticed my application.

If I heard the news right this morning as I was passing it by, it sounds like there is a history of "domestic disturbance."

Sorry to hear it, BB. I've been in your shoes (with more notice, at least) and it really, really sucks. I allowed myself about a week of time to feel sorry for myself, then polished up my resumé and started checking the Internet for job leads. My advice would be to go ahead and put in for unemployment bennies ASAP as there's a week where you get nothing after you apply. Since you lost the job through no fault of your own, you should be able to collect them.
I've saved up some money, I should get some tax return, and if all else fails, I could get some unemployment checks. I should be alright until another job comes along.
