best line I heard about the Mayans is if they could predict the future so well, they'd have seen the Spanish coming

Pretty sure they did predict the Spanish coming, and that it would end their civilization. THey just couldn't do anything about it.

So...pretty good track record.

Not to get all nerdy, but their calendar lining up with the galactic alignment is pretty damn interesting. What happens? Hell if I know. But it shows how much time they spent monitoring the stars.

It's ok everyone.

They apparently were only predicting the day my water heater would blow up.

Do we have any application developers in our midst looking for a new job? Bonus points if the following means anything to you: VB, .net, SQL Server, C#.

I bought a 96 Subaru Outback wagon with 142K on it two years ago for $2100.

Now it's got 170K and still going strong.

OK, it could use a brake job and it uses a little oil.....

Actually, the Maya were undone by a very significant drought, some 400 years before the Sapnish arrived. Climate Change is not a new phenomenon.

Anyone else notice how Lonnie didn't even bother to refute Lou's assertion about his surfing?

It's got it's own little cult following, driving up the demand curve. At least I understand the demand curve part of that...

You are right. It absolutely is a celestial event. I have spent some time doing Reiki this year. The world is not ending but what they were predicting was the end of an emotional cycle. The energy that is coming that actually began on December the 12th is in energy of prosperity and positivity. It is very good energy if you let it in but it does involve some chaos. So you have to let it settle. I'm looking forward to the equinox and then a big shift on December the 23rd. It is supposed to be a year of letting things go.

In other news my boss gave me a nice gift today and a little bit of a bonus. He has been very good to me this year. However there is a ton of sugar in this office. If you checking on me around 6 tonight I will likely be sobbing. I do not do well with too much sugar

Plus, his specialty is developing UIs that only require you to use one hand (and a whole lot of "swiping" )

Thank you! Yes it is

the test wasn't too bad just cause the firm I am with did a really good job prepping me. It was a bit of a stomach turner at times though. The ten seconds it took to score was the longest of my life

Very cool. My wife passed the CFP (taking the 7/9/10/63/66 along the way), so I'm not familiar with the test itself, but with the time commitment )
