Fun fact: Cam Barker has been outscored by Kent Huskins each of the last three seasons. Barker averaged around 2 mins/game on the PP over that span while Huskins averaged less than 20 secs/game.

Reclamation would imply though he was at least an average PMD at some point. Don't see that other than the one season on a stacked Hawks roster.

I The industry I work in, some people like to employ guys with no previous experience or skills. The thinking is that these people will learn to do things your way and not do them someone elses. Maybe this is the thinking with bringing in these types of D man. Since some more capable D haven't really worked with the system.
Hasn't really worked yet though.

Perron-Backes-Oshie
Schwartz-Berglund-Stewart
Steen-McDonald-Tarasenko
That's the top 9 exactly, if you flip Steen and McDonald (Steen's centering that line). Blues prefer to matchup P-B-O vs the other team's top line so they generally get the hardest/most minutes. The other two lines are split fairly evenly on ES TOI, with variances between individual TOIs depending on special teams usage. S-B-S usually gets the next hardest defensive assignment, and M-S-T is the line they'll try to exploit favorable offensive matchups with. D'Agostini, Sobotka, and Langenbrunner will get their share of top 9 time this year as well, I'm sure.

Cheering for a Jets blowout against the Capitals tonight so then it could possibly start to make the Caps look at Luongo as an option. Of course, it won't happen after two games, but the more goals the better.

Ah, I keep forgetting you guys have Langenbrunner as well, though I had no idea he was buried that deep on your roster. So the 4th line is probably D- S-L.

Blues are looking very impressive this season though, and you can see why they and LA gave up so few goals last year, because all 4 lines are held accountable defensively on both teams. I only wish our coach could do the same thing.

Wouldn't be surprised to see STL go on a long playoff run - this might just be the year they win it all. I thought LAK was going to be very strong last season after they acquired Richards, and the Blues are beginning to look like the same.

Unless, of course, the Canucks have anything to say about it.

What's interesting is that a lot of Flyers' players have actually been playing abroad (or in the AHL) this whole season so they're not exactly getting into shape or anything. These guys played elsewhere during the lockout:

Claude Giroux
Sean Couturier
Brayden Schenn
Kurtis Foster
Wayne Simmonds
Jakub Voracek
Zac Rinaldo
Scott Laughton
Eric Wellwood
Ruslan Fedotenko
Maxime Talbot
Ilya Bryzgalov

That's a pretty decent list. You have to think they're just a little bit freaked out by this start.

The flyers have a very talented forward group but it seems the goalie is not helping them at all.......

Nothing will fix their atrocious defense. I would think Paul Holmgren knows that but I suppose it's entirely possible he has more balls than brains..

Philly could be in for some hurt. They play the Rangers next. An 0-4 start is the equivalent of an 0-7 start in a full season. That could be the pressure point Gillis needs.

Can they take Luongo's contract on without sending much salary back?

They can use Pronger's LTIR to fit Luongo in without sending too much back ($1m, if that), it would seem. They're also in a decent situation for next year so there won't be any tagging issues.
