Really what the Oilers looked like that period was a bunch of kids. You see it all the time in junior hockey and even the best junior hockey in the world (world juniors). When kids lose it they can really really really lose it and the opposition can pile up golas in short order. There is some learning to be done.
Of course some of the problems are the vets....
They are who we [people living in reality] thought they were.
Not dissing you but the team with no rust is getting nuked, and there's no moral victories for us in a 48 game season. I hope the Vancouver forwards who are being paid to score are watching this game.
True enough - course, maybe I like to look at the bright side of things....the more wins the Oilers get, the less chance they're going to get the #1 pick overall again right? If Kesler & Booth were in, then maybe I'd pay more attention to the final outcome of the game.
Just goes to show you how putrid the Canucks effort against Edmonton was last Sunday.
We were great in the first period and okay in the second (up until that Eberle goal which made it 2-1). I don't really remember the third, but what killed us was not being able to capitalize on the PP. WE HAD SIX POWERPLAYS FOR F** SAKES!
