What a difference a year (and a Loria firesale) can make...
I thought I was going to laugh, but really, it's just sad.

Looks like the Indians are signing Dice-K. Poor, poor tribe.

Yeah, I was there, actually was in line behind the guy in the shorts. When the box office opened at 10AM there were maybe a whopping 10 people in line. Attendance overall at the event was way way down from last year, and the atmosphere was depressing as heck. They will be lucky to draw 1.5 million & I would not be shocked if its even much less than that.

He seems like a tool on twitter. Isn't he a yankees fan? That would explain it...

He is a Yankees fan, but he's able to be objective about that team. He's a complete ******* on twitter, but I think he shines in columns and newsletters. Easiest way to follow the other 29 teams in baseball, IMO.

he and rany jazayerli do a really good podcast too.

it's not updated on a regular basis, but it's typically an hour plus of them going back and forth and actually backing up opinions.

That is one of the most pathetic sights I have seen in professional sports

Even a single A club would draw better ,,, Loria should right a book on how to destroy franchises

Were you the one who took the photo?

Also, I'm feel bad for you that your owner played you guys like that. I wasn't trying to troll you Marlins fans, just showing what Loria can do to a fanbase in a small amount of time.

There were literally more people in line to buy spring training tickets two weeks ago at Surprise Stadium than in that Marlins line.

Hope Dice-BB makes the team. Him and Ubaldo in the same rotation could be fun for the other 29 teams.

While all most all Pirate fans hated him, I didn't mind having him on the team. He didn't have a good season, but pretty average for him (especially at his age). His power numbers/BA were down, but his obp was about as expected. He also seemed like a great clubhouse guy. Not that I was sad to see him go, but I don't know what Pirate fans were expecting from him.

If your expectations are tempered and he makes the team, he'll bring exactly what you think he will.

No, it wasn't me lol! It must have been taken a few minutes before I got there. And no worries, our own fanbase is fed up, so any attendance jokes from here on are fair game.

Hopefully that beard can help him finally hit major league pitching.

I won't hold my breath.

As bad as Barton is every time I see him it reminds me of the Cards giving up Haren for 4 injury ravaged seasons of Mark Mulder.

You guys made up for it by getting Holliday for virtually nothing.
