I'm going to assume it was a SPT and not a real deal considering the guy didn't even latch on with any MLB organization last year...but hey, that 5.34 ERA and 1.672 WHIP for the Sugar Land Skeeters was mighty impressive.

Kazmir is a sad tale.

I can see Lincecum totally continue to fall off a cliff like Kazmir did.

Is Rafael Soriano any good. Either on Sportsnet or TSN, they mentioned that someone(think it was a G.M. of some team) who said or tweeted something along the lines of, expect a sleeper team to sign Soriano. That sleeper team could be the Blue Jays.

Lincecum doesn't have injury problems and an inconsistent arm slot.

But he does have a significant drop in velocity and shoddy control at best.

He filled in for Mariano Rivera admirably.

I think Tim will bounce back. He was great in the playoffs albeit in the bullpen. No way will he turn out like Kazmir though, you almost have to try to be that bad.

And there's a logical reasoning behind it. He didn't repeat his mechanics very well this season. He threw across his body a lot of the time.

He's had control problems before this season, though. Hitters have figured out that they can lay off the slider because he can't throw it for a strike and sit dead red on the 89 mph fastball.

He looked good for most of hist starts through 3-4 innings, then he would get rocked and get knocked out of the game...

I hope he proves me wrong, but I don't ever see him getting back anywhere near his cy young ability.

And the control and velocity improves with consistent mechanics. Something he's had for most of his career.

Lol, Jeremy Bonderman got signed???! The guy was awful outside of like one season when he was in his prime. How is he going to contribute anything now? Harden I can actually sort of see but this makes even less sense than Kazmir if that's possible. (and Kazmir actually used to be good as we all know)

Soriano is an excellent closer. I'm actually pretty peeved that he left, it would have been nice having a replacement for Mariano that had proven he can do it over the course of a season without embarrassing himself.

Is Seattle still moving their outfield walls in or is that still to be decided?

They are moving the fences in 3-6 feet in every area. It might help out psychologically, but I don't see the amount adding any more home run totals.

Just horrible. I remember him being a reckless outfielder, diving for everything. He was fun to watch. RIP.

Don't think AA will want to give up a pick too sign him, but we'll see. If Oliver comes back, they don't need anyone else for the bullpen anyways.

I remember Freel. I always liked him as a player. This is terrible to hear.

Freel also told reporters that he's had a history of concussions, and estimated there have been "six or seven" that he knows of, and a few others that he doesn't remember.

"It's probably nine or 10 I've had," he said. "But nothing like this. I'd bounce back in a few days, miss four or five days, but never had the lingering effects like this. I had some dizziness and some headaches, but not like I'm having now. This is totally different."
