There is growing speculation that there might be nobody elected to the HoF this year.

I'm not gonna get into the steroid debate for the 213214124th time, but seriously no one? I count at least 10 guys who defnitiely belong in, maybe more (I know you can only vote for 10).

Even the voters who are trying to do "justice" and keep out the "cheaters" can't bring themselves to vote for the other guys with zero ties to "PEDs?" Really?

Raines, Bagwell, Martinez, Piazza, Biggio, McGriff, Schilling, Trammall, Morris, Smith?

And it's not like I'm saying "Since they won't put in the "PED" guys at least put someone in, anyone. Hey why not Shawn Green!"

All of those guys I listed have a legitimate case to be a HoFer, some more than others obviously, and I have a different opinion on each, but I wouldn't complain if any of them got in.

They should just skip the mandatory wait period and bring in Jim Thome. He's never been linked to the 'roids, and he's got 600+ homers.

Also, he's my favourite all time player. So they should do me a solid.

BBTF is keeping a running count of votes publicly listed by writers. It was last updated 12/27/12 and the top 5 were:

69.1 - Biggio
68.1 - Bagwell
62.8 - J. Morris
62.8 - Piazza
60.6 - Raines
Not surprised, though. On top of the voters making a statement, there's a lot of guys who deserve to get in but have been ignored for years anyway. It's a recipe for baseball to look stupid.

The Flubs sign Dontrelle Willis.

Mark Prior has to be nervous in anticipation hoping the phone rings.

Coming from someone with the same religious background as Torii, I respectfully disagree. Nothing productive could come from this.

Ben Finfer ‏@BenFinfer

So in the end #Cubs ended up with Antonio Alfonseca, Matt Clement AND Dontrelle Willis. Trade won.

I can't stand Lance Berkman. He can never keep his trap shut.

Kind of wanted Berky on the O's a DH. But I'm sure they didn't want to pay him 10mil. Don't really know what Duquette is doing this off-season, apart from saving money, and getting ready to pay the **** out of some young talent. The O's were really lucky last year, and I'm pretty sure they won't repeat much of their success. Guess we're back to the bottom of the AL East.

New flic coming out detailing the life story of Jackie Robinson. Looks pretty good. I created a thread in the entertainment thread with trailer included.

Kinda OT, but can anyone tell me if there is a place to watch full baseball matches online, like on youtube on something (I know there are some channels that have full NHL games, though unlisted so you can't search for them)? I tried the wiziwig forums, but all the links there seem dead. I got into baseball the first time during these playoffs and I don't want my interest to completely go away until the new season starts...

What could the give for him? I know Seattle has a lot of pieces, but I doubt ARZ would be interested in relief pitchers/pitching prospects.

The deal would have sent three or four players back to Arizona, according to CBSSports.com sources. Included among those players would have been relievers Charlie Furbush and Stephen Pryor, minor-league shortstop Nick Franklin and, likely, one of three minor-league starting pitching prospects: Right-hander Taijuan Walker, lefty James Paxton or lefty Danny Hultzen.

Franklin has average range at best. He'd be more suited to 2nd base.
