damn Mets. Last year we lose the batting champion (JReyes) and this year we lose the Cy Young winner. What a Mess.

Well there is more coming back to Toronto. Apparently the Mets are keeping the other players close to their chests because Toronto can derail the move.

They weren't going to win a title even if they had kept both. The mistake was not trading Reyes.
I still find this rumor hard to believe with TDA involved unless the Mets are sending a top prospect back too.

Trading Dickey at the peak of his value is the way to go. The Mets aren't winning anything with Dickey the next two years. They have no catchers, no outfielders, and a good crop of pitchers.
No brainer IMO, as much as I like the guy.

His ceiling is Carl Crawford with a better eye and gold glove defense in CF.

And a way better arm. As a pitcher in high school Gose had a 97mph fastball.
There are questions about his hitting but his speed, defense and arm are elite. All + or ++ tools.

He's got the defence and the speed, needs to work on hitting in the bigs.

It was nice to see teams hesitant to run on him after he showed off his arm.

His D, speed and arm alone make him good enough to be a starting center fielder, if his bat ever comes around he will be a very special player.

Joel Sherman @Joelsherman1
So to repeat, Anthony Gose is NOT part of the trade talks for Dickey. #Bluejays building a package around D'Arnaud. #Mets

I can't tell if the Mets are selling high or the Jays are here
Toronto just drafted another outfield speedster this past year, D.J. Davis. Maybe AA is thinking he could part with Gose for help in other spots and still have that future leadoff hitter.
And after reading that Joel Sherman tweet, maybe it doesn't matter lol

I dont really like the idea of trading TDA or Gose but adding Dickey would be huge.
If we trade both I will be beyond pissed.

I agree, after the constant barrage of catchers the Jays have fielded the last few years that tantalizing stability that TDA could bring is very enticing.
A silver lining in all this, we get a chance to see the knuckleball a lot more. I haven't been this excited since Tom Candiotti was picked up.
