Somehow symmetry isn't always a beautiful thing...

Ever think your goalies are just bad?

hmm, the biggest question would be a goalie with no stick. He'd be rendered almost useless at playing the puck and I don't think there is really any boost in play to merit giving up their ability to play the puck. The only goalie goals would be possible if they were the last to touch the puck on an own goal.

I don't think that the biggest concern under this plan is a lack of goalie goals.

Love how his pads help cover his 5-hole.

I hate goalie pads.

How about two sticks and no glove?

Eh, I think you'd need a whole rule exemption for it to be worthwhile.

Like for example, shoulder pads (extensions) for goalies choosing to employ the glove/protector combo on each arm.

It would be a game changer for sure. No question my stick touches the puck more times per game than anything else, between playing the puck and using my stick to make saves and to direct rebounds on pretty much every single low shot I stop in a game.

Radical idea. To me it wouldn't even feel like playing hockey anymore, it would be that much of a game changer.

This would have a huge impact on goals scored. There would be lots. Breakaways would almost be gimmies if the shooter has any skill or brains.

His five hole would be Swiss cheese.
