When you look at this write-up, you will notice one thing, I'm not going to drum up this team. It's just solid top to bottom. Nothing fancy, just a good ole' solid team. I am way too ****ing hungover to do a writeup, but, this team should finish 8th in the West. Since I am not doing an actual write-up, I'm going to test if you are reading this... Each side is equal length in an isosceles triangle, true or false?

False. 2 sides are the same length, one is different

VOTE FORE THE DEVILS... THE DEVILS !!!

1st line:
The combination of skill, defensive awareness and grit is exactly what we offer with the likes of Ilya Kovalchuk, Travis Zajac and Dainus Zubrus on our top line. Kovalchuk is a superstar and can score at will, Zajac is one of the best 2 way centers in the game and Zubrus is just a beat along the boards and he's the kind of "glue guy" any team would love to have.

2nd line:
The skillset on our 2nd line is almost just as solid as our 1st line. The chemistry between both Czech players (Frolik and Elias) has been displayed in previous tournaments and having a legit sniper like Semin gives us the perfect complementary second line scoring we've been looking for since day #1. Despite his age, Patrick Elias is one of the most underated players in the league in terms of offense and has always been a stud defensively because of his high "hockey IQ".

3rd line:
We are dressing one of the most hated 3rd line in the league. David Clarkson and Cal Clutterbuck are two of the biggest pest in the game and they can also contribute offensively as well, wich gives us a solid mix of grit and offense. Jim Slater is also a stud when in comes to faceoffs, so starting with the puck when you have two "tazmanian devils" on the wings is always a plus and will wear down the opposing defense threw a 7 game series.

4th line:
We didn't even bother tweaking our 4th line. The perfect mix of hustle, speed and grit is exactly what Carter, Gionta and Bernier gave us last year against all the way to the finals and we expect them to be even better this time around.

----------

1st pairing:
Duncan Keith is a superstar d-men that can play in any situation. He's a stud when it comes to the transition game and we have guys like Kovalchuk, Elias, Semin, Zajac, etc... who'll benefit big time from just that. Bryce Salvador is a true shutdown d-men that will complement Keith to perfection.

2nd pairing:
Andrei Markov is almost on the same level as Keith. He's a d-men that is as solid 5 on 5, the PP or the PK. He's also a excellent puck distributor who can find the open with ease. He's the pefect guy to slot behind Keith if the opposition tries to shut him down by throwing out their "shutdown line" against our top pairing. Marek Zidlicky is mostly about offense and if there's something that's been lacking threw the years in Jersey, it's offense coming from the points. With a duo of Markov-Zidlicky, we feel we'll spend way more time in the opposing end then our own and that's all that matters.

3rd pairing:
The experience of Henrik Tallinder and the emergence of Mark Fayne gives us a pretty stable and reliable 3rd pairing. We don't need miracles from our 3rd pairing... just steady play and that's exactly what we'll get from them.

----------

Goaltenders:
We are dressing A LEGEND in Martin Brodeur and despite his age, he's proven time and time again that when the pucks drops, Marty's the best that ever played the game. We also have one of the best backups in case something were to happen to our pending HOF netminder, so that's just a added bonus.

If this lineup doesn't scare you, I don't know what will

Offensively, sure the Sedins and Burrows are one of the best year in and year out. They're not that great on defense though. There are first lines I would take over them in real life and in this game. Your second line is great, I'll give you that. There are teams that are close or just as good again though. Your third line is also great, but again there are teams that are close there. I just find you saying it's not even close to be pretty ridiculous when there are teams right there.

GOALTENDERS

Jimmy Howard ($2.250m)
Brent Johnson ($0.650m

I brought in an elite player in Datsyuk, top pairing dman in Seabrook, All-Star goalie in Howard, and various other players to improve the team. Datsyuk and Ovechkin will be together along with Erat to form one of the best lines in the league. This line will get it done both both offensively and defensively. While Ovechkin may not be great defensively, Datsyuk is with more Selkes than anybody currently playing. Erat is also great defensively. I can trust this line to go out and not only score, but also shut down just about any line in the league. On my second line I have a top 10 center in the league in Backstrom with an emerging playmaking star in Parenteau and a very good top 6 forward in Malone. On my third line I have a first line center in Ribeiro with a 30 goal scorer in Franzen and another solid top 6 forward in MacArthur.

On defense we kept our great first pairing of Carlson and Alzner. After those two, we weren't happy with the rest of the defense. So, we brought in Seabrook, a top pairing defenseman and one of the best defensively in the game, to play on our second pairing. With him will be Scuderi who has two Cups and is very solid defensively. We expect this to be one of the best second pairings in the league. At goalie, we brought in an All-Star in Jimmy Howard. We were happy with Holtby's playoff performance but we wanted somebody with a little more experience and we got just that.

Superstars ✔
Three great scoring lines ✔
Lines that can also defend ✔
Great top 4 ✔
Great goalie ✔

Well Daniel is +104 the last 4 seasons while Henrik is +106 so I'd say they're doing just fine because it really doesn't matter how good defensively a line is, especially when they have an insane amount of puck possession like the Sedins. The only thing that matters is you're GF/GA ratio when you're on the ice. Now I'm not saying +\- is a great stat but you can't say they're awful defensively when they possess the puck all game and are on for a lot more goals for then against.

And yeah I like my 2nd line alot, don't know if its best, but I never said it was, its probably up there though.

And tbh I'd say my 3rd line is pretty amazing. Hall is a stud, who scored at a 36 goal pace last year. Desharnais is extremely underrated and scored 60 points last year on a lottery team, and Williams was a top line winger on the Stanley Cup champs.

How could this not be the worst team in the league? We've got prospects all over our lineup, few of whom are actually ready, and the only player that could do anything on this team is Pietrangelo. Don't forget that Carolina is purposely tanking at this point by sending their talent down to Juniors, and Detroit is easily a stronger, more competitive team. This is the best roster I can put out there, outside of my goaltenders (Corey Crawford decided to pull a Timmy Thomas), and I think I deserve dead last.

Vote for last place!

Dude, we get it. You like your team. No need to pump your tires consistently. Like it or not it effects peoples views in voting.

While you kept your first line other people have integrated a whole new first line to their team. Ovechkin + Datsyuk + Erat versus your first line? Let's be realistic here.

What...?

I'm 99% sure Cammalleri is a Star. In fact, I have absolutely no idea where LA got the idea that he was on their team... He's only been in one move (from Calgary to Dallas).

This is the best roster I can put out there, outside of my goaltenders (Corey Crawford decided to pull a Timmy Thomas), and I think I deserve dead last.

Vote for last place!
We have Tom ****in Kostoplolus on the first line!!!!! Brian Rolston too!

Our team sucks. Columbus sucks. Carolina sucks. It all comes down to who sucks the most. In my opinion we (easily) suck the most. We have a rookie goalie in net that will face a barrage of shots on him considering that our defense is made up of mostly #5 and #6 guys. Our offense is made up of prospects, old guys, and no name guys. We are by far the most sucky of the suck, and I'm not even covering up anything.

Plus minus is an awful stat, period. Lidstrom won the Norris as a minus player so what do you think the experts think about that stat?

I do think your team is great especially your offense but when you say you have the best offense and it's not even close, I think you need to look at some other teams around the league.

You have a legit top 6 center in Johansson and both your 2nd and 3rd line contain only NHL players. I have like, 4 on my team (and all but one are 4th line plugs). Don't see how your team could possibly be worse.

The Cammy trade to LA was vetoed since, ironically, you have LA's first from the JJ trade IRL. Thus, he is on my team.

I won't repost my roster again, but I will say this:

VOTE
VOTE

There are some great teams in this game (i.e. Washington, San Jose, Vancouver) but we feel that we are just as good.

I'm not going to go on about how good my team is or whatever. I will leave that up to the voters to decide.

Vote for #1

While you kept your first line other people have integrated a whole new first line to their team. Ovechkin + Datsyuk + Erat versus your first line? Let's be realistic here.
I'm not pumping my tires at all. I posted my roster and made claims about my team, like almost every other GM has. It's not my fault people commented on my roster. If they're commenting about my roster I'm gonna respond as I imagine you and all other posters would.

It's funny because I barely even pumped my own tires. Yeah saying best offense was probably pumping my tires but people have been saying that in the chatzy alot, while I haven't said anything about my team or pumped my own tires at all before posting that. The only other things I said were about Luongo and my bottom pairing Dmen.

The Penguins went out and added some great players to an already strong roster. Up front, we added several good pieces to support the two best players in the world. On Crosby's wing, he will play with James Neal, coming off an 81 point season, as well as Alex Tanguay. Tanguay is coming off 49 points in 64 games last year, and 69 points the year previously. Playing with someone like Crosby, he should certainly be good enough for 70+ points. Our 2nd line features Malkin, as well as two excellent wingers in Kunitz and Umberger, who likewise will greatly benefit from playing with someone like Malkin. Our bottom 6 is very good, providing a good mixture of offense/toughness. Dupuis, coming off a 25 goal, 59 point season, Sutter, Downie, Cooke, Adams, and Glass. On defense, we already had a top 7-10 defensman in Kris Letang, and went out and brought in the likes of Jack Johnson, Ian White, and Jason Demers. In return, we only lost Paul Martin, who had a horrendous year, and Engelland. Safe to say our D should be way better than last years. In net, we replaced Fleury with one of the best goalies in the league, in Mikka Kiprusoff. The team in front of him is far far better than what has been playing in front of him for years, and we are confident he will maintain and exceed his high level of play.
