American Bruins fan cheering for Alex Galchenyuk and Team USA, and Canadian Habs fan cheering for Dougie Hamilton and Team Canada.

Here's to an excellent tournament

You won't lose to them, of course, but don't underestimate the Germans. They played well today.

They did, but it seemed to me like they over exerted themselves trying to keep up with Canada. We'll see how ready they are.

True. But Germany will have a game under their belt and the U.S. always starts off slowly so...

Again, I am sure you will win. Just don't be surprised if they surprise you.

I didn't see the Canada game as I was enjoying my sleep, but I would have to imagine at worst the game goes like Denmark last year. We struggle for a period and a half and then simply wear them down.

strategy's always tricky because you need to acknowledge your stamina for your next game. You'll feel it tomorrow when you have to beat a "low seed" team using a grind-em-down approach.

The first 5-10 minutes against Germany are crucial tomorrow as I would like to think it sets the tone for what type of American team were going to see in this tournament, hopefully the boys are getting their rest and our prepared to come out and give their best effort tomorrow for an entire 60 minutes and get the win.

On the flip side Germany just got ground into dust by the best team in the tournament.

Any idea why they are delaying the final roster announcement? I haven't seen a whole lot of info.

According to Rob Simpson, they're going to wait until after the Germany game to see how Murphy holds up and then make a call. Curious if true. I guess if Murphy looks poor they'll keep Sieloff to help shoulder some of that shutdown role Murphy would harness. If he's ok, they'll roll with Grzelcyk and keep the more fluid backend Housley prefers. Odd they would already lock Murphy in if they're still worried about him though. Or maybe it's not Murphy with the injury concern? Seems unlikely though.

I thought the game was pretty damn even, just Canada could score at will whenever they wanted to. Germany has a damn good team and so does Slovakia. It almost sucks because the Germans probably should stay up on the top division, but they are going to get relegated from being in a tough division.

That seems beyond bizarre, but oh well.

Thanks

Apparently he had to take an exam before the Finland game.

Ohio is leading the team in terms of representatives! Illinois is tied for second.

Texas, Florida and California.

Betmman's job is not to grow hockey in US. His job is to grow the NHL as a whole.
